Longtime lurker, checking in! AA Female, 160 LSAT and 3.4ish gpa. Hoping that "holistic" actually means something...
Hail Mary's: UPenn, Michigan, Cornell, GULC. (I wouldn't have even dreamed of applying if not for TLS, so here's to a smidgen of hope...haha!)
Reaches: Boston U, Vanderbilt, USC--LSN has me in the "realistic hopeful" range.
Targets: WUSTL, BC, William & Mary, Washington & Lee.
If all else fails, I'd be willing to retake in June and apply earlier; had to change my LSAT date from October to December last year and then nerves got the best of me (darn you, 170 practice tests!).
Good luck to those still waiting, and congrats to those already in!

Re: 2011 - 2012 URM Application Cycle
I watched the last URM cycle (2010/2011) and they started letting in people (even the odd 3.5/165) from late November. So this wasn't the case last year. But the people in that cycle who had watched the cycle before that (2009/2010) said that one had been a hold fest.boosk wrote:whenwin wrote:I read somewhere once that Harvard often holds off on accepting URM applicants until later on in the cycle (when they've seen the entire applicant pool, I guess). While I am very happy for all you guys getting accepted into great schools, let's try to start withdrawing for us with mediocre numbers.
Basically, withdraw from Duke on down. You know you're not going to attend

I hope your KB1 is coming soon though. Your GPA is great so you should be hearing any time in the coming weeks hopefully. I really think Harvard is holding people differently this year. Hopefully we see some KB1s tomorrow and in the weeks following the application deadline.Dani.B wrote:Held at Harvard.

I went complete on 11/7.
Why are you hoping for a hold? j/w
Personally, I find it to be better than the alternative reject or WL for now, but it has me nervous. :S

I got a Presidential Scholarship to GWU Law-- AA Male 160/3.79 from a mediocre state school.
I'd gotten into several T10s already (though with no money); I'll be withdrawing my applications by the end of next week.
Good luck to you all!

From the hold email or blog post, it says they do not need any more letters of recommendations. I think a genuine LOCI will be fine. But it takes them a while to add it to your file upon receipt. So they may not even read it until 1.5-2 weeks after you send it.Dani.B wrote:thanks, i going to send them another letter of recommendation, loci, and updated transcript to give them a little nudgesharktankdean wrote:I hope your KB1 is coming soon though. I feel like relative to the rest of the applicant pool (close to my submission dates), schools are taking forever to come to decisions regarding my application. Anyone else getting this vibe?

YES. At this point in my cycle, I don't even care if I get rejections. I just want to be able to start weighing my options and make a damn decision.FryBreadPower wrote:I feel like relative to the rest of the applicant pool (close to my submission dates), schools are taking forever to come to decisions regarding my application.
