What do you mean by "behavioral portion"? Feel free to PM.
If you could also slide into my DMs with the answer to this that would be divine

I had my first interview today. Other than background noise on my end that I couldn't control, it seemed like a standard interview. I thought it went well and my interviewer was personable.
idk if it helps, but I met someone who did SEO for the summer in 2016 and she said she'd put in a good word for me (TX market so small af) so hopefully that magically supersedes everything else lol

Behavioral interviews are those "tell me about a time when you..." questions. Basically gauges your behavior in certain situations (handling conflict, operating within teams, dealing with workload, etc) based on past examples you give.

I feel like my sense is that prestige matters in so far as firms would rather hire certain students. So in Texas
I feel like Austin would def be on the firms hiring list
Very true. I think I'm competitive but everyone who applies is also competitive so who knows. I want SEO for the networking and $$$.
The person who put in a good word for me says that the firm she worked for SEO hired her again for her 1L summer and that she knows of a person who did SEO and was hired for their 1L summer without the firm looking at grades. Obviously anecdotes are not everything, but it seems to be a win/win for those who are selected.

Did your friend who was in the program tell you what they actually do like on a daily basis during the program?

I didn't ask because I don't need to get my hopes up for something that's now out of my control unless there's a second interview
#PlsHireMe
During the actual interview vs chatting with acquaintance: the program is undergoing some type of overhaul on the SEO side (e.g. etiquette and law school readiness are the first two weeks, instead of splitting those two in half). I think it honestly depends on where you're placed and what the firms wants/needs.

Just got a second email request to interview with the new director when I already scheduled my interview. Seems sloppy.

As for the 2nd interview... it seems like a lot of effort they're making into evaluating and re-evaluating everyone. Maybe there were issues with the previous cohort(s) and they're trying to be better at vetting people?

Did you have your second interview already? Got mine later this week and feeling

.
Second interview went well and was similar to the first. Don't stress over it.

Think of it as an opportunity to say more about you that isn't in your application already. I know that's one thing I'm looking forward to.

Can anyone answer this? Should I not expect a second interview since my first was already with the new Director?

E-mail SEO. They messed up some people's interview schedules.

Was it phone or skype? I was confused as to which is happening.

Did mine over phone because that is what the original email said and I did not want to put on half a suit again.

In the 2nd interview e-mail they are now saying that decisions are rolling (so to schedule the 2nd interview sooner rather than later).
So at least people should be hearing back after mid-April?

I can't help but think that the people working in NYU's admissions office are the same people running SEO. They're both based in NYC, after all.

you're probably right about this
