I'm a former SEO who will be in DC this summer and I'm looking for a subletter for my condo in Harlem. 1br in a 2br, $1600/m, cable & utilities included, 1 minute walk to ABCD.

Can you tell us what to expect for SEO? Will we work and do events with the other SAs? How many SEOs are usually at a firm? What kind of work do they expect from you without any legal education?

1. Crazy, long summer. Lots of networking. Lots of fun.
2. Depends on the firm. 1-5 is normal for NY.
3. They expect you to ask questions and do the work to the best of your ability. They don't expect it to be perfect. The work you're doing isn't that important (if it were, you wouldn't be the one doing it).

Just so you know, I got the offer email three days after being admitted over the phone. The email came on a Sunday evening.

Will we be expected to attend SEO related events on weekends? Are there events like every weeknight?

During 2nd interview I asked this, and was told to expect (with some obvious variation) a 9-5 firm workday with 3 hours worth of events most nights.

This may sound dumb, but has anyone thought about a gym membership? Working out is very important to me and I'm wondering if anyone has thought about this. Will we have time? Lol gotta keep getting my gains know what I mean??

Also if anyone knows of any cheap gyms in the NYU area please post!

I won't be in NYC, so I don't know the gym situation. However, you'll definitely have time. From what I've read, the schedule is not that brutal so you should be able to get some gainz in early morning

If you're in NY, you will have two mandatory SEO sessions per week. Your firm will usually have one social event for summers only/the whole firm. They may have an additional practice area focused event. Lastly, other SEO firms will host events during the week/weekend that you may be invited to. You do not have to go to these (though you should), but you should RSVP yes or no regardless and you should follow through on your RSVP (i.e., go if you say you're going).

Order of importance to SEO: Your work at the firm > SEO events > your firm events > other firms' events

Also, go to the Paul Weiss summer barbecue.

Work out. If you do not, you will gain weight. Make time for it.

Order of importance to SEO: Your work at the firm > SEO events > your firm events > other firms' events

Truth. You will be at an event every weekday. And occassional Saturdays. Don't make weekend plans until your first day at the firm when you get their calendar of events. Also, sometimes you'll have law firm breakfasts (for your firm or SEO).

Fewer events in markets other than NYC, although a good/similar # in DC.

N/p. Literally yesterday so like a 24 hr turnover like someone else mentioned. Think it was the final piece to officially being confirmed, no second interview. I'm super stoked! My interviewer was super nice throughout the process too.

Thanks! Sounds like I'll have a nervous tomorrow, a feeling I've been missing as this application period winds down.
