Lurking here and there....and wondering what JS1 and JS2 means? Also, does anyone have any idea what decision timeframes have looked like in the past for applicants who apply in mid-November?
Congrats to everyone who has received good news thus far and good luck to everyone still waiting.

JS1 means an invite to interview at Harvard. JS2 means admission into HLS.wsag826 wrote:Lurking here and there....and wondering what JS1 and JS2 means? Also, does anyone have any idea what decision timeframes have looked like in the past for applicants who apply in mid-November?

You can search for a submit range here: http://mylsn.info/r/pre-law/admissions/search/. You can click on "more info" to see individual applicants and when they submitted and received decisions.
Unfortunately, I don't know trends off the top of my head or how to find an aggregate. I think a lot of it will also be dependent on the school, so it will probably be helpful to look at the threads from last year of the schools you are applying to.

You could use this chart for each school you've applied to: http://mylsn.info/r/pre-law/timeline/chart/wsag826 wrote:Lurking here and there....and wondering what JS1 and JS2 means? MA female checking in for the URM cycle!
Just received my first acceptance at Berkeley -- very very lucky and happy to stop here if the dream school doesn't end up liking me!
LSAT: 165
GPA: 3.7
Best of luck to everyone.

Also just in response to lack of URMs on this thread... obsessively looked through LSN data and noticed that most URM's don't apply till quite a bit later in the cycle (January onwards).

I certainly didn't get it. Super jealous.ballcaps wrote:anyone else receive a prospectus/letter/misc. from yale? spoke directly of minority status.
thoughts? i guess it's no different from any other unsolicited communication, although i'd like to think yale is less likely to troll people with invitations to apply just to increase their selectivity

I guess that's a subtle hint to retake because I'd like to think my GPA is decent (3.7+).

This thread is dead because we aren't getting very many decisions. WE NEED DECISIONS! I check the Michigan status checker religiously
I guess thats what I get for being extremely waitlistable (not a word I know)

Re: URM 2014-2015 Cycle Thread
Thanks jemthey and lc39....those charts were actually pretty helpful. Looks like Duke and UVA historically have sent a lot of favorable decisions to similar candidates before the end of the year (if they applied around mid-November like myself). Penn, Chicago and Columbia were more prone to send acceptances and waitlists in late January or early February.
I'm getting really angsty but only because of my impatience haha but hopefully we'll all hear news from the schools of our choosing soon. I took a risk applying with a lower LSAT score than I would have hoped so I just have to cross my fingers for yhe best.

Hi folks...
There's been some movement with NYU. I got a DLS yesterday and I can log into the admitted students site. I definitely agree that this thread will pick up steam once schools start responding.
URM, <25th LSAT, >50th GPA

Can't wait to check in for this cycle. Taking the LSAT on Saturday and then getting my apps all ready to go for score release. GPA > all 75th, LSAT ???

I haven't been dinged anywhere yet. While other people (non-URMS) who applied at the same time or earlier with better numbers have. The wait is real...

I'll share some of my good news. In at Berkeley, Michigan, UVA, Georgetown and Duke. JS1 and interview at UChicago. Unbelievably excited about all of it. Can't believe how fortunate I have been.

Feel like this week should be a busy one. But I have a sick feeling in my stomach right now. Hope I'm wrong, but I'd like to know already!

Congrats! Did you do the 15 minute q&a phone call by chance? I signed up for one and they told me next steps would be sent out in December, so I'm happy to see this! Now just crossing my fingers.90convoy wrote:just got SEO interview request

AA male, 3.93 UPGA, <25th percentile LSAT, loads of WE and low-to-moderate softs.
Carpet-bombed Harvard through William & Mary plus safeties back in early-to-mid November, not much to report except going complete at a few places.
Also, got a request for employer letter of rec from Columbia because of my WE (which I don't have; resigned my job to focus on LSAT!), so trying to get them to accept the same LORs I submitted elsewhere.
Keeping thread fav'd and will update.
Good luck all!~

Re: URM 2014-2015 Cycle Thread
wow Never heard this before. is it a high profile job? How long have you been employed there? Sounds like they are looking for a reason to let you in. Your GPA is super competitive, may be something to do with the LSAT? Just speculating here.Flokkness wrote:AA male, 3.93 UPGA, <25th percentile LSAT, loads of WE and low-to-moderate softs.

Re: URM 2014-2015 Cycle Thread
So I was just thinking. I don't think that I will get many decisions for a while since I only have 4 semesters of grades. Doesn't it make sense that schools will just wait till I update transcripts before they make a decision? I'm bordering median at much of the t-14.
Maybe that's not a thing, idk. Somethin to think about
