I did! Sent in my application right before the round 2 deadline. I would really, really love to get that. So much.Mojosodope wrote:Need to figure out my damn ACT score,MoMettaMonk wrote:Congrats to all of the new admits! And Okaygo on the internship!
Speaking of internships, has anyone applied for SEO yet?
does anyone know if they actually check those...like can I estimate?
As for the ACT scores, I forgot mine too. (Memorized my SAT for some reason. Of course, that's only 3 numbers and they were way easier to remember.) I had changed my email since high school, so I needed to submit a help request for the change, but they got back to me in < 24 hours and everything was pretty quick/easy. Probably better than estimating, although I have no idea if they actually check.

Re: URM 2013-2014 Cycle Thread
Oh. And as for biglaw, I want to do it for as long as I can before I lateral into an in-house position at a tech company. I would absolutely consider myself biglaw or bust, though if I get a good clerkship I would gladly take it.
I have considered entering academia at several points in my life--I love research/writing and teaching--so a hitherto undiscovered passion for legal academia might sway me away from biglaw. I doubt it will, though after I've practiced for a while I might want to try to teach as a adjunct clinic attorney or something. (But I have low hopes for the law school hiring market, so it's more an idle thought than an actual plan.)
What's strange is that although I thought I wanted to do transactional work related to emerging companies, the more research I do about law school/legal work, the more I'm interested in litigation. I should probably not worry until I actually have to decide, but...uncertainty stresses me out. :\

Though the retake might get you more money. I guess it depends on how confident you are on your score improving this weekend.

I say go with your gut instinct mojo. If you are content with your score and happy with your options thus far I say no don't take it. But if you are concerned with the money you dished out. I say go for it and take it. And make sure you murder the LSAT to juice more money out of the schools. And make your effort worth every penny you spent.Mojosodope wrote:now that I'm in at NYU I regret signing up for the Dec LSAT.

Man there are some significant downsides to the K-JD path.
1) I'm going to be incredibly broke this summer,
2) and as such, I may have to live at parents home for 3 months prior to 1L which would be awful
3) I can't figure out where I'm going to get the money for seat deposit/security deposit/first months rent

1. SEO might help thatokaygo wrote:Man there are some significant downsides to the K-JD path.

2. you can save money this way... but honestly I broke my bank to live elsewhere, try a cheap summer sublet. I'm sure you can get a deal from a desperate sublet-er last minute.
3. Financial aid at whatever school you get into might be able to help you with this. I know of some students who have gotten financial aid dispensed early on to help with these costs.
