Sadly you are not...I submitted my app in mid-November and still have had absolutely 0 movement. Not pressed cause I'm pretty much staying on the east coast but it's just laughable at this point how much time it has taken to get a decision.DiniMae wrote:I think I'm the last person to hear anything from SLS. Re: URM 2014-2015 Cycle Thread
I really can't advise you to go considering your stellar GPA. Please hit the books hard, retake the LSAT and reapply. You should be looking at full-rides and YHS honestly, please don't sell yourself short.
And it sounds like from your thread you're not sure about your goals (which is fine!) so that's another reason to take some time off. No rush to head into that much debt, IMO.

This is great advice and I completely agree

midwest, i'm not one to automatically join the "retake!" chorus, but in this case, i can't help it. you have an incredible GPA and a mediocre LSAT score, which have led to, in my opinion, only barely defensible options. those debt figures are just way too high, at least for me, and you have the power to change them.

Re: URM 2014-2015 Cycle Thread
MidWest, brother, as much fun as it'd be to be classmates this fall, the truth is that if you go back and do the LSAT good and proper and use the experience gained this cycle on next year's apps, there's no reason you can't board the train at YH and never look back, or, take a free ride elsewhere. In either case you'll have no regrets and potentially only minimal debt to suck the joy from your existence.
Your most current offer is not terrible by any means, but relative to that lovely GPA, URM status, and armed with the knowledge that you can do better on the LSAT? IMHO a few extra months is a small price to pay for the chance to leverage a better future for yourself. You have the whole rest of your life ahead of you. I know from painful experience and similar levels of agonized hand-wringing that sitting out for a retake is a bitter pill indeed. Long-term, though, it is the best medicine for you. And all your TLS peeps want you to be well, if that isn't totally obvious by this point.
Also, hope ya'll are enjoying your last few months of real life, not (too) nose-deep in hornbooks etc etc!

Hi, I'm new to TLS (lurker) but I was wondering if there is going to be a 2015-2016 URM cycle thread? The only one I see has been locked with the comment "no duplicate threads."

Was literally wondering this myself having noticed that this thread started in June. If you didn't I will.nopenottoday wrote:Hi, I'm new to TLS (lurker) but I was wondering if there is going to be a 2015-2016 URM cycle thread? The only reason I won't do it is because the first one was locked by a mod. I'm not trying to get my first thread locked or something.

I see. But I'm pretty sure the locked thread was because that poster had said the exact same thing in some other forum. Already did it for you. Also I at least have some posts so people might know who I am.nopenottoday wrote:shump92 wrote:Was literally wondering this myself having noticed that this thread started in June.
