Interested in hearing your rationale (general curiosity). Can you share or PM(or not)? Just curious if there's some awful aspect I'm unaware of.

nah nothing especially awful. Some special circumstance a allow me to get most of the advantages of SEO without SEO. Plus the timing just isn't right for me, my job, and my partner.

And if I'm keeping it real, I think there are fit issues between me and the program. Specifically SEOs tone has always come across as a little condescending. I think I can have a happier summer just staying put.

I don't know that this is the right choice for others, but it's right for me.

Just got offered LA/Newport!!!

Didn't even preference Newport, but it's my hometown so no housing costs. Dream come true, cycle officially completed!

I got a follow up email 2 days later. Not sure if that's a standard, though.

Training starts in NYC (for all interns) on May 26. Law Institute ends (again in NYC for all interns) on July 31.

If anyone needs an apartment in NY, I have a spot on 128th available from 5/18-7/24. Because of the dates, it probably would work best for someone going to NYU or CLS and planning to live off campus, but if you can fill in the Institute days with a stopgap arrangement, great. I live ~50 steps from the ABCD in a fairly new condo that a bunch of BigLaw people are in. Rent would be $1600/m with everything (utilities, cable, wifi) included and the rooms are all furnished. It's 1br in a 2br/1.5 bath with in unit W/D, a dry cleaner across the street, and basic gym equipment in the basement. Hit me up if you're interested.

The lady on the phone told me that they will have our firm placements sometime next week. Idk if that means WE will know, or if only they will know.

Anyway, how many SEO-NYC people in here are gonna live in the NYU housing? It's kinda expensive, but they recommend it.
