All quiet over here? I know HLS sent out some WLs today and SLS sent out more DLS...Hope everyone still waiting on those schools is hanging in there!

Weirdly still breathing at HCSN...zero movement in any direction.lc39 wrote:All quiet over here? I know HLS sent out some WLs today and SLS sent out more DLS...Hope everyone still waiting on those schools is hanging in there!
Really leaning Penn, though, so happily not holding my breath. Scholly offer blew Berk's out of the water, plus proximity to fiance and family, access to Wharton certs--may just be too good.

http://www.lsac.org/docs/default-source ... oodadm.pdfLSAC wrote:After April 1, except under binding early decision plans, every applicant should be free to accept a new offer from a law school even though a scholarship has been accepted, a deposit has been paid, or a commitment has been made to another school. To provide applicants with an uncoerced choice among various law schools, no excessive nonrefundable deposit should be required solely to maintain a place in the class. Beginning on May 15 of each year, law schools that participate in the Commitment Overlap Service will be provided with information concerning all enrollment commitments to any law school made by those applicants who have indicated an intention to enroll in that school’s entering class. A law school should clearly communicate its policies on multiple enrollment commitments upon admission.
(Page 3, Item #6)
That's the only thing I can see re: law schools being able to see where you've deposited. So it seems they will be able to see after May 15.
AFAIK SEO requires you to send proof of enrollment/seat deposit prior to them making you an offer.

Thanks LC! Do we send it preemptively or will they ask for it?

Re: URM 2014-2015 Cycle Thread
SEO told me to show them proof of enrollment when I'm ready.

Re: URM 2014-2015 Cycle Thread
Not applying to SEO but I got this from the thread from a past participant. I'd just send it when you're ready. Hypothetically, if I was pretty set on Berkeley I'd just submit now and update them if H/S come through later.Apsara wrote:Your seat deposit is the amount you have to pay to confirm your seat/attendance as an incoming 1L student (not all schools have this, ie Berkeley and Harvard). Yes, you will not receive an offer until you update SEO with an email/send in a copy of your seat deposit of where you will attend. I heard back from SEO about 5 days after I sent in details of where I deposited. You will get an acceptance via email. Uncertain if they also extend phone call offers as well.ItsHandled14 wrote:Also, what is the seat deposit everyone keeps posting about? Must you confirm what school you will attend by paying the school's fee before being offered a position?
According to LSAC policy, you should always be free to accept new offers (like S) or offers off the WL (like H) so IMO there's no downside to committing to B now.

Not that I remember, but she told me in the interview. Also, the above is spot on from what I've heard

So saw a lot of HLS WL with noJS1, what's the general consensus on what this means? Good/bad/neutral?

Re: URM 2014-2015 Cycle Thread
I'd say it's good if you're still waiting and neutral in general. There's still a lot of WL, JS2, JSno notification to go around, so I don't think the recent WL activity means very much. Just the start of the onslaught.
