Ballcaps, you have plenty of good options available to you, this is just a bump in the road

Sorry caps. I definitely don't get their strategy. Perhaps they are going with the give all the $$$ to thesis and be okay with not getting any more URMs who have YSH as an option.ballcaps wrote:just got my scholarship offer from chicago!

Are you visiting Penn? I'm starting to lean that way.Flokkness wrote:Waitlisted at Duke yesterday... it's gonna come down to Penn, Berk, and UVA barring a surprise dream admit. Chicago and Mich are out because of those nasty winters. Just not doing that for three years.
Anybody else got any news or gotten closer to a decision? And, hope ya'll enjoying those ASWs!

Congrats on making a decision. Have fun at Yale.cc78 wrote:Ha! I don't think this choice is going to land me in the next version of "Profiles in Courage", but I appreciate the congrats. I don't want to be a stranger, but it's hard to know how to engage with the TLS community now. I know where I'm going, so I have no news to report, and I haven't been to even a day of law school, so I have no experiences to share. I guess I'll just visit daily to offer congrats to everyone who gets more good news/settles on a school.Flokkness wrote:Bold, sir, very bold. Congrats once again, and don't be a stranger.cc78 wrote:Withdrew from SLS this afternoon. YLS deposit in the mail today. Can't believe it's over!!

Dream, good luck! Def. not an expert but feel free to PM re: interview tips.
They also threw me more than half tuition with the Wilson which was cool considering how horrid my essay was.
I'm weirdly moving to PA (not Philly; just an interim apt. with the old lady to accommodate her school stuff) in 6 weeks. So, no to ASW but yes to a visit. How about you?DiniMae wrote:Are you visiting Penn? UVA earns all of my ire for their YP this cycle/every cycle...

Also, +1 to the UVA WL. Not really upset TBH.
ETA: And WL'ed at Chicago. But it seems like both schools are low on $$$ at this point anyway?

Re: URM 2014-2015 Cycle Thread
Hey all...got into Duke a bit ago. Honestly never would've guessed that Duke would be one of the last schools I had heard back from. Idk if their PT makes for later RD decisions or something.
Either way, would've loved Duke, but I'm starting to get aid info in the mail and am consistently getting the same packages from pretty much every T14 with the exception of Chicago which lowballed me (and seems to low ball everyone from the get go). Which means I'm probably leaning towards Columbia ATM barring, of course, Y (and maybe S--those west coast flight costs are just too scary to rationalize w/o big scholarship money, though).
Anyways, hope everyone's cycle is progressing well. And congrats to Dini, Flok, CC, and everyone else as your cycles come to an end...and congrats wheresthethesis on your BIG JS2!!!!
