Nobody in the Feb wave got money yet I think.jemthey17 wrote:Really sorry, Wahr.
I didn't hear anything from Chicago re: money. Am I just too recent of an admit or are they not giving me anything?

Well, guys, after a flurry of emails and form submissions this morning, I am down to just two offers under consideration. I'd love to hear anyone's advice with respect to Yale v. Stanford.
Here's who I left today:
Chicago
Columbia
NYU
Penn
Northwestern
Cornell
Georgetown
Texas
BC
Wake
I hope that me stepping out gets some folks in here who are waiting some calls/some money.

What do you want to do after law school CC? Guessing that would factor into your choice.
Stanford is warm and business oriented, Yale is cold and academically oriented. Which one of those sounds more appealing to you?
sorry that's all I've got, congratulations on fantastic options

PM'd you what I've heard from current students who chose S. If you have a reason to prefer east coast or west coast living, that seems to be the major factor in determining where people end up between these two. Also, maybe one of them will be markedly more generous than the other wrt need aid and that'll make the decision for you (this is what I'm hoping happens for me, haha).cc78 wrote:Well, guys, after a flurry of emails and form submissions this morning, I am down to just two offers under consideration. My vote is Y just because it's Y. I think everyone who has the opportunity to go to Y should. But that's not a good reason, so obviously my vote is irrelevant. If I thought I had a real chance I would've applied.cc78 wrote:Well, guys, after a flurry of emails and form submissions this morning, I am down to just two offers under consideration. Just heard today about 150,000 to Georgetown and nothing from UVA (so many loans, oh so many loans). I am definitely considering GULC much more heavily now, but wondered which schools would negotiate with their offer? Thoughts would be much appreciated.

Conventional wisdom holds that Duke, Northwestern, Cornell would be most interested. But you should definitely use that as leverage everywhere you can (aka the entire T14 minus YHS) because that's some sweet money. I know GULC gets bashed a lot on here, but if you're interested in what DC has to offer, it's a great school. If you don't get a reasonable match anywhere, my vote is to take that and runnarwhalsrfun wrote:Just heard today about 150,000 to Georgetown and nothing from UVA (so many loans, oh so many loans). Does anyone know if the number on the ABA 509 for 25%-50%-75% grant amounts, includes money that was received as a scholarship?
UT Austin says the 75% received a $18,000.00 grant. This has to include their scholly money right?
