Waiting for a decision from these schools is nerve wracking. I really hope I get accepted into my top schools, but admissions can be so unpredictable.
In other news...My Vandy status checker says decision mailed so I hope it's not a rejection or WL letter.

Definitely, however, I'm expecting Michigan and Cornell to start sending out waves of acceptances -- URMS along with non-URMSmandyjay11 wrote: Don't they usually hold off on urm acceptances at some schools ?
Have any other URMs done alumni interviews for Northwestern?

and I heard Kanye puts on a good show. I'm normally not a rap concert fan because it's too much fan participation, but I did consider going to his.
Although, I wish I could go see Bey again, her concerts always change my life.

Yeah I saw kanye back in the college dropout days and he was awesome so I'm excited to see how he's grown as a performer since then.mandyjay11 wrote:Sweet @ YaleAugust Wilson wrote:Planning on submitting to Y today. This 250 has been nerve racking.

The ones I applied to seem to be accepting some URMs at the same time as everyone else.mandyjay11 wrote:Don't they usually hold off on urm acceptances at some schools ?californiauser wrote:Historically Vandy hasn't rejected anyone in November.applelover wrote:Waiting for a decision from these schools is nerve wracking. Is anybody watching tonight's episode? They're chronicling major events from 1940-1968. They have so much old footage, stuff I've never seen before. It's all so moving. Very well done.AAJD2B wrote:FYI everyone, if anyone is interested in history there is a really interesting series called "The African Americans: Many Rivers Crossed" on PBS. It's hosted by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. I was completely unaware about this series until today. It wasn't even widely publicized. Ugh.
Here is the link for more info:

If you are short on cash, you could sell ish on E-Bay to get some $$$. I have made a few thousand dollars on E-Bay since I begun.

From applying, to finding monies to prep for an exam that determines most everything, this process dissuades many who come from humble beginnings. Heck, I work but gotta space out sending apps too because I help support my mother. It's stories like these we must bring forth to the application. It brings forth context that not every one of us were born with gold spoons in our mouths...that it took a lot of sacrifices to even get to this point of applying.
Everyone who can relate, keep your head up. You've already come so far.
