So 4 more apps were sent out today which included mac n' cheese lovin'-watermelon slaughtering-fried chicken serving Michigan. I figure if they accept me with $$$ I can use for bargaining chip purposes.

Is anyone applying to Berkeley without a fee waiver?

How many optional essays did you do for Michigan?

Two, including a why Mich.

Waiting for a decision from these schools is nerve wracking. I really hope I get accepted into my top schools, but admissions can be so unpredictable.



In other news...My Vandy status checker says decision mailed so I hope it's not a rejection or WL letter.

Waiting for a decision from these schools is nerve wracking. I really hope I get accepted into my top schools, but admissions can be so unpredictable.



In other news...My Vandy status checker says decision mailed so I hope it's not a rejection or WL letter.

Historically Vandy hasn't rejected anyone in November.

Definitely, however, I'm expecting Michigan and Cornell to start sending out waves of acceptances -- URMS along with non-URMS

The ones I applied to seem to be accepting some URMs at the same time as everyone else.

FYI everyone, if anyone is interested in history there is a really interesting series called "The African Americans: Many Rivers Crossed" on PBS. It's hosted by Henry Louis Gates, Jr. I was completely unaware about this series until today. It wasn't even widely publicized. Ugh.

I always loved Boalt as a child. Plus I got a fee waiver for every other school I applied to besides H and S.

On the real they say law school is an equal opportunist but I beg to differ. From applying, to finding monies to prep for an exam that determines most everything, this process dissuades many who come from humble beginnings. Heck, I work but gotta space out sending apps too because I help support my mother. It's stories like these we must bring forth to the application. It brings forth context that not every one of us were born with gold spoons in our mouths...that it took a lot of sacrifices to even get to this point of applying.

Everyone who can relate, keep your head up. You've already come so far.
