Who is 170+ in here? I know the answer will (hopefully) change once October/December scores come back, but I'd love to see how the number of 170+ URM scorers in here compares to the total number of 170s that should be expected according to the black by the numbers thread.

I'll start by saying that I'm not one of them lol
I'm 167 but might possibly (most likely not tho :( ) with my Oct. score, although I'm currently prepping for a final re-take in December. I do think we should keep a tally of specifically AA 170+ scorers. My GPA is pretty shitty so I need a high score to make up for it
Will December be #3 for you?

How do you think you did? I took it in June and October. I know I need to retake in December to bump me up even more to be where I wanna be. October was definitely easier but I'm still anxious about getting into 170+. I know I did well but I'm gonna be nervous until we get our scores.

I think I did OK, I was PTing between 169-172 the weeks leading up to the exam but I think I might've messed up the 3rd game. I'm just prepping for December now tho since I'm already registered, and I think taking 3/4 weeks off of studying while waiting for the score wouldn't be good, if I get my score back it is a 171 or above, then I will probably just withdraw. I'm basically hoping for the best but preparing for the worst

Third game killed me too...took like 15 minutes on it. My only saving grace was that when the proctor called five minutes I was able to go to the last game and then finish it while still having enough time to make educated guesses on game 3.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm usually perfect on games and that one tripped me up, so I'm a bit concerned. I don't see any downside in re-taking, I've actually read that a lot of people do their best on their final take, so I'm all set for December, probably gonna get my apps out after New Year's break.

As an AA female, UCLA is definitely not on my radar anymore given recent events.

Should you submit apps now if you're retaking in December? I cancelled my october score, shit show. I just don't want to have my apps in late, Im confident in my application but I feel like the end of December is super late.

Can you explain? Because it happened or because it was in the media?

Now im working on my personal statement while sitting in prep limbo. Im thinking anything less than a 174 im gunna rewrite in dec.
Yay a fellow Canadian :D Amazing scores btw.

I don't think applying in early Jan would make that much of a difference, especially with a high score considering how apps have dropped in recent years

If you currently have a score your comfortable with and would get you consideration at the schools your applying too I don't see any downside to applying now though, I just assume they will hold your app until that December score rolls in.

UCLA use to be my top choice. They seem to have a lot of racial tension at that school they need to solve. I know from when I applied my first cycle they had problems with racial issues.

Yup, I know I'm going to be disappointed with my October score so here's to hoping they hold off on decisions until waaay later. Are you?

Yeah just U of T and western though...I feel like I have a better shot at the US because of the the urm status(black male) and LSAT being weighed heavier. Like if I got a 170 ii d probably have a decent shot at NYU but no chance at U of T. Tuition in the states makes U of Ts 30k a year loook like pocket change though.

U of T will never be worth it at that price when you can pay a little more and get a JD at a better known American university. I definitely agree about URM status being a big help, and there's more opportunities for scholarships down south. Starting salaries in the states in the private sector are much better than up here anyways. In all honesty, if I were you and scored above a 170, I'd scrap Canadian schools altogether.

When you factor in the strength of the dollar(assuming it holds up) US salaries are even more ridiculously higher than Canada's. The US was always more of an unlikely option for me, but it might be worth taking more seriously seeing how all a 170-174 guarantees me in Canada is Western and maybe Osgoode. Thanks!!

The end of December is not super late, in fact, January is when the bulk of admissions decisions are made at most schools.

I know I missed intros :) I also applied last cycle, did fairly well and landed on a pretty major waitlist (one of hYS) but didn't get in. Planning to retake in Dec and boost my chances. Let's go! Oh, NA/AA female. :)
