Good luck to everyone!
Thanks for offering to answer questions! Can you tell us why you think SEO is worth it? I know you get a paid internship, and a well-paid one at that, but is there anything else that you can share with us about the program that makes it valuable?Uncivil Procedure wrote:Hey there peoples, SEO alum from this past summer here. SEO alum from this past summer as well! Happy to answer any questions people may have, on here or in PM. These forums helped me tremendously when applying to law school; would love to pay it forward.Uncivil Procedure wrote:Hey there peoples, SEO alum from this past summer here. yeah I do, on second glance I think the email was specifically about the seo edge program and not the law internship.gamerish wrote:Nope. Did you have all your information uploaded already? PS, schools applied to, etc?cdotson2 wrote:Anyone else get an email from them today asking to update your profile?

Probably not. Last year we didn't have to submit recs, even though that link was there.gamerish wrote:I'm just now noticing an option for "Add or Edit Recommendation Requests" at the bottom of the application. I'm almost positive that wasn't there a few weeks ago. Am I supposed to be asking for LoRs for this? I didn't get an email telling me to.
Yeah I attended the webinar earlier this year and asked the same question. They said no letters of Rec are requiredTr3 wrote:Probably not. I a specifically interested in Chicago, NY and Los Angeles.
Hey guys checking in. This list is awesome - thank you! Can anyone comment on how we're supposed to research the firms for their specialties in the cities we're interested in? This was a point that was literally in bold print in the SEO Webinar presentation they hosted some weeks agoTr3 wrote:Harvette wrote:Can anyone provide names and location of law firms where they place students?

Go to their respective websites. Do they have a lot of attorneys from the M and A group in Xyz city? If so, they probably have a focus on M and A in Xyz city. Many firms also advertise their recent big projects on their home page.lawsk3wl wrote:Hey guys checking in. This list is awesome - thank you! This was a question during the webinar. Everyone is responsible for their own housing no matter what city. The difference that comes into play is a one-week training session prior to the internship that SEO requires for all interns. NYC interns during the one-week session don't have housing provided for them (because SEO assumes they've secured housing for the rest of the summer); anyone that's not placed in NYC will have housing provided for by SEO for that one week but then they'll be responsible for securing their own housing in the city they get placed in. SEO tries to ease the process by providing info they've obtained regarding housing from previous intern classes and their own networks in the cities.StringerSoprano_6062 wrote:Do you guys know what the housing situation is for the summer? Does SEO cover the housing expenses or are SEO interns expected to secure/pay for their housing for the summer. I heard that this may vary from city to city. That NYC interns may have to figure out their own housing but other sites may be paid for by SEO
Also, you could just look at the news sections of some of the websites and see what they're consistently bragging about. That will give some (but not conclusive) indication of what their focus is.FairchildFLT wrote:Go to their respective websites. Do they have a lot of attorneys from the M and A group in Xyz city?
