Hey cycle 2013-2014, checking in as well. A rising senior preparing to take the LSAT in oct as well. Hope the Supreme Court decision today doesn't change things up that much. How is the oct LSAT prep going for those preparing to take it?

Please explain how Fisher will have any effect on the 2013-2014 cycle.BerkeleyBear wrote:I wouldn't go that far.John_rizzy_rawls wrote:They punted, it's not affecting anything, at all.Bosh wrote:Hope the Supreme Court decision today doesn't change things up that much.

Re: URM 2013-2014 Cycle Thread
It obviously isn't. "Hope the Supreme Court decision today doesn't change things up that much." I understand we're in a URM 13-14 thread, but this person didn't explicitly state they were only talking about this years cycle.John_rizzy_rawls wrote:Please explain how Fisher will have any effect on the 2013-2014 cycle.BerkeleyBear wrote:I wouldn't go that far.John_rizzy_rawls wrote:They punted, it's not affecting anything, at all.Bosh wrote:Hope the Supreme Court decision today doesn't change things up that much.

Yup. Zero precedent set here. "We affirm Grutter and remand lower courts to use strict scrutiny" won't ever be cited or affect shit.Wormfather wrote:Fischer won't affect any year's cycle.

October prep is going well here. Exclusively self-studying with Blueprint and Mike Kim's LSAT Trainer. Finally cracking my nemesis LR getting between 0-4x per section. Games are relatively strong at 0-3x per section, all timed. Haven't actively worked on RC yet. Hope your studies are going well!

Re: URM 2013-2014 Cycle Thread
Thanks! I'm considering UofMN, UW, UIUC, WUSTL for sure, still contemplating on what others to hit up. Ideally, I would like to work/live in either chicago or minneapolis (chicago seems to have a much higher pay rate relative to CoL though). You applying this cycle? sorry if you posted in this thread already, i am bad at following screen names hahaessyct wrote:Congrats on the LSAT! No worries! Yes, I'm applying this cycle. I have a pretty good GPA so I'm hoping to get a decent LSAT score in October so that I'll have a fair shot at the T14.

I just saw your reply. My prep is also going well. Getting the LR drills down as its my challenging section, thanks to Cambridge bundle and manhattan review forum, I hope for more improvement. LG has been progressing but I guess I have to start working on my RC section now.AAJD2B wrote:Fortunately it did not!Bosh wrote:Hey cycle 2013-2014, checking in as well. For those that have been following URM cycle, will a 170+ lsat score help boost my median GPA of 3.55 to HYS? That's where I would love to go fall 2014, but of course any other t14 acceptance would also be terrific. I'm a black male URM.

170 3.55 would be a lock at harvard/stanford for an AA male. 165+/3.5+ is already really strong for them too. Yale is never predictable, so i dont include it in the equation.Bosh wrote:I just saw your reply. My prep is also going well. Really? A 3.55 GPA is good enough?Typhoon24 wrote:170 3.55 would be a lock at harvard/stanford for an AA male. 165+/3.5+ is already really strong for them too. good enough for some.Xixak wrote:

according to Law school numbers, several AAs last cycle got in to SLS and HLS with a 3.5-3.6 ish GPAs. some of them had sub-165s too. Obviously this is LSN, so it's not written in stone, but it shows that this has happened before.

You'll be fine. We have almost identical stats/URM.Typhoon24 wrote:good enough for some.Xixak wrote:
