This is a tough question and one that's best answered with "it depends." Are most of my friends at law school URMs? Yes, but not all. Do I think it's self-segregation? No. The affinity groups at my school are small and active, so it's an easy way to make friends in law school. Similarly, my non-URM friends for the most part come from either my section or my extra-curriculars, so it makes sense that if you spend a lot of time with your affinity group, they will become your close friends. That said, there are definitely URMs at my school who take no part in any affinity group activities, and therefore would answer this question much differently.
