I would definitely apply to Dallas. I put Houston as 1 and I think California as 2...but given a chance I would prefer Dallas to CA.
So are you going to update your preferences then to Dallas as #2? I wonder from where else other than UT are TX firms willing to take recruit students? SLS? The TX market seems so closed off.....?
Where did you see that Dallas was added?

Can we project positive thoughts and vote for ones we hope we'll be accepted in time to attend? lollc39 wrote:New poll up for March ASWs! I actually will no longer be attending Cal's ASW so as of right now I will be visiting 0 schools in March.

Also, I added "withdrew" as an option in the spreadsheet in case anyone wants that to be their status. (intended to mean withdrew before decision)

Congrats to everyone who was accepted into schools. I sat out last cycle to go to grad school and get my masters before law school. Will be taking the LSAT again in June. Again congrats to all those who were accepted so far this cycle.

Unless you have said something weird in your PS or your LOR said something backhanded about you, you're fine.
They're probably giving you a hard time because they don't think you'd seriously attend there. It's bizarre because it seems like, the better your numbers, the more you have to sell yourself to them.
Will penn give some kind of interview to waitlisted people where they can express their continued interest? Are you able to visit the campus and show your interest? Do you want to?
I think if you gave them a little extra attention and sounded sincere about wanting to attend, you would have an acceptance pretty quickly.

Hopefully see you at the NY and Chicago ASWs. My SOs not coming with me anymore because we're trying to save money for the summer - so I'll be looking for people to hang out withTr3 wrote:So I just booked flights for Berk, CLS, and NYU ASWs. Don't sweat it! I'm not an adcomm but I'm legit assuming, that they're assuming, that you're YHS bound and if you really want Penn over one of those schools you'll play ball, wait it out, etc.wheresthethesis wrote:Fourth waitlist, this time by U Penn.

Starting to worry about the letters.
Maybe I sounded pretentious in my PS.
Looks like I'm writing a LOCI or two

Thanks. Well..my worry is that a good scholarship isn't likely off the waitlist? I guess I should think more carefully about it before withdrawing. My first reaction is kind of childish, I just feel really indignant!
e: I also wrote a bad Why Penn, which I just can't recover from

Wlee made it off of the waitlist last year at Penn. Respectable scholarship, even in July.

His advice for waitlisted people at penn:
Wlee wrote:Thanks. The only advice I can give is to write really good LOCIs that show your interest and emphasize their interdisciplinary learning. Penn really values their interdisciplinary learning opportunities so if there's something else you're interested in besides law that they offer mention it. I can't speak to the merits of calling/additional letters of rec/resume updates but I don't think it can hurt. I just didn't do much of that.

Actually, now that I think about it, that could be need-aid he received. I wouldn't really know. He has an account here, so people can message him if you're interested.

Really sorry on all the WLs, dudes.
Why, Penn? Pun not intended.
wheresthethesis, I'm sure you will have amazing options. Can't wait to see things turn around for you in a major way. HYS will be calling!

It was need aid only, according to what he said in the URM 13-14 thread (yes I read through that whole thread when I was obscenely bored of refreshing status checkers).Skool wrote:Actually, now that I think about it, that could be need-aid he received.
