So of the 100+ reasons I have to go to michigan I have slaughtermelon and soul food to look forward to in 9th and 11th place, respectively. Oh I can't wait to not apply

I think I got that packet when I was applying before. Please tell me that's not the only mention of their BLSA. If that's just one of several things they highlight about BLSA, La Raza, etc. then I can't be too mad, but if that's the only mention then that's a problem.

Wait, did they highlight it as in, they highlighted it especially in the packet they sent you, or as in it was mentioned in the BLSA description.

Also, UM is the only t14 with lower AA enrollment lower than the Cal state schools.

Mometta... That's about it unless they forgot to send me the other hundred plus reasons to go there. But the new glass room got a two page spread sooooo there's that. Also they threw in a paragraph about me being black and and mentioning BLSA in the letter that accompanied the book so it's not all 100% completely bad.

I just got that Michigan packet. Lmao they highlighted soul food lunches from the black law student group in the book and said "you don't want to miss the maccaroni and cheese" lmao bye Michigan.

My favorite is the blurb about the wrongful convictions clinic or some other ish like that, and it accompanies a full page pic of the grateful black man surrounded by his white saviors. This really sealed the deal for me.

Oh good lord. This is ridiculous. And to think, Michigan was already my least favorite of the t14...

but I can't deny that I sincerely hope social functions wherever I do end up include macaroni & cheese because that shit is delicious.

Since I posted about my JS 1, I have received several pms. Some were nice where people just asked my stats to figure out how the cycle is going and others where people question how on earth I got one, in attempt to make me feel like 1. I am not a qualified candidate or 2. That I only got one because I'm a urm. I will not be responding to the latter.

No lol. It didn't bother me I just thought the way they worded their questions could have been a lot more politer especially since I've never held a conversation with them on TLS. Even if they didn't mean it to be offensive that's how they worded the question and as future lawyers they should know that diction is important.

Yea what's funny is that one person went through my post history and found a post with my LSAT score and then said that since it wasn't good enough I must have had some other factors to offset it or been a high demand URM. They asked me a bunch of rhetorical questions that they then answered later in the message.

my brother is going to chicago at basically sticker ($5K/year). but he had a weird cycle and got rejected and waitlisted from a ton of schools. it was between chicago, irvine, and wisconsin for him.
