Lots of movement with Harvard today.

Yeah I'll wait it out. I honestly don't think they reviewed the applications again. It just looks like an extension they're givin themselves until May. You think mentioning SEO would help at all? My freshmen year of college continues to haunt me...oh well.unc0mm0n1 wrote:For real man? Well according to lsn 8 people got in off the waitlist in may. unc0mm0n1 wrote:lol. well you have all the info you need. And you can do anything you want in France. We just had plenty of problem with american service members there without their international drivers license, my legal office actually got in touch with French officials in Paris and asked for clarification of the driving situation and they informed us all service members had to have an international DL to drive in France without issue. It costs like 15 dollars but I was just trying to impart some advice my bad. It seems like you have everything figured out. Have fun in Spain.
I don't even bother trying to drive in Europe. They scare me. Seriously crazy fucking drivers.
I have friends who went. From their descriptions, I'm not interested + I didn't want to go before I heard what they had to say about it.LLB2JD wrote:Hmmmm...You should have a desire to go to Morocco...You might be surprised.
Don't do it. Come be at CLS with me.Non-Chalant1 wrote:Got waitlisted with everyone else who was held.

Yeah I got wait listed, here's hoping that URM's choose Hamilton's, Darrow's or Rubinstein's over Harvard and free up some spots!

I met quite a few HLS admits at the NYU scholly interviews, and I know of quite a few who stayed with Harvard even after the $$$$ offer.miracle2011 wrote:Yeah I got wait listed, here's hoping that URM's choose Hamilton's, Darrow's or Rubinstein's over Harvard and free up some spots!

Yeah but at ASW last week I'd say about 50% of the people I met were taking something else besides HLS. This includes deferments, Yale, Darrows, Ruby's, Stanford and Hamiltons. I think of the ~30 people I met and got a gauge of their future plans I'd say only >10 were completely sold that Harvard was for them. In fact of all of the Yale/ Stanford admits I met there. I think I was the only one choosing Harvard.law_monkey wrote:I met quite a few HLS admits at the NYU scholly interviews, and I know of quite a few who stayed with Harvard even after the $$$$ offer.miracle2011 wrote:Yeah I got wait listed, here's hoping that URM's choose Hamilton's, Darrow's or Rubinstein's over Harvard and free up some spots!

Although I'm not a big fan of Tangier, it's just a tourist trap with people constantly asking you for money. If you go you gotta really get into Morocco to a place like Marrakesh, it's beautiful and the food is amazing, plus it's super cheap.Punisha20 wrote:+1LLB2JD wrote:Hmmmm...You should have a desire to go to Morocco...You might be surprised.

Im pretty sure I met a lot of TLS people during the first ASW because more than a few people disliked Harvard the very first day for no articulable reason. A lot of people come to those events with these online stereotypes drilled into their head (along with out of context and selectively believed data[i.e. if HYS NLJ250+Art. III all add up to ~70-80% total, somehow people conclude that the other 20% of YS is doing something super prestigious while the other 20% of H is unemployed). TBH, Im somewhat glad that Harvard has this online stigma. I wouldnt want to be classmates with the type of people who faithfully follow the "reasoning" and "hard data" that shows up on TLS.unc0mm0n1 wrote:Yeah but at ASW last week I'd say about 50% of the people I met were taking something else besides HLS. I also hope that anyone who asks Dean Minnow a question about USNWR rankings doesnt come to H.

Re: URM 2010-2011 Application Cycle
Hey Harvard WLers,
It's not a bad thing. Trust me. A slow yes, is always better than a quick no. WLs tend to come out over a period of two or three days...sometimes it can be a little longer. IIRC, some may even come out over the weekend. To not hear after the round of WLs....um, definitely pray for the best but I remember from last year that usually means a rejection. Last year, all those who got JR1s after these round of decisions were already WLed. So don't expect a JR1 at this time....but hey, maybe they're doing it differently this year. Anyway, if you get a JR1 interview and you don't spaz and say you're not sure about Harvard or something, you usually get a JR2 at the end of the call. Some people did not get one immediately, but they eventually got one. Bottom line: I've never heard of anyone not getting in after receiving a WL---> JR1. If he contacts you this late in the game, he wants you to fill an open spot.
Good luck <3

Which is why I hope to be classmates with you guys. Sometimes I'm dumbfounded by the TLS stereotypes. Oh well at least my cycle is done. Time to decide. It's been pretty successful. Sweep of everywhere in the T14 I applied to (all but Y, S, Berkeley) but UVA (not surprising) and a Duke priority reserve.unc0mm0n1 wrote:That's why I'm glad we're going to be classmates!!!tkgrrett wrote:Im pretty sure I met a lot of TLS people during the first ASW because more than a few people disliked Harvard the very first day for no articulable reason.
