Cross-posting the following from the Chicago thread, where a gentleman (Irontryad) did some analysis back in November.

Does anyone know what the average acceptance rate is for those who get the interview offer?

You could look at the data from last year's spreadsheet.

Yeah, sure, I'll bite.

73 recorded interviews in that sheet out of 167 applicants. 32 accepted with interviews (43.8%). 11 wait-listed (15.1%), 28 decision pending (38.4%), 0 denied. That decision pending number is surely inflated by people who didn't edit to reflect admission. I'd think the actual acceptance percentage is somewhere closer to two-thirds, if we put half of the pending applications in acceptance and half on the wait-list, we'll get 46 (63%) admitted.

Now, going a step further, I sorted by interview request date. 31 applicants received interview invites prior to January 1st. Of those, 5 were wait-listed (16%), 4 are decision pending (13%), and 22 were accepted (71%). Of the five November invites, four were accepted and one is still listed as pending (but was probably accepted).

Hope that helps to shed some light on the situation. I was surprised that there were only five November invites in the spreadsheet last year -- seems like we already have more than that this year. No October invites are listed on last year's sheet.

Chances seem solid with an interview in general. Don't have URM-specific data though, or data beyond the above, which is probably a blessing because if it was available I'd pore over it several times a day. Chicago is my most realistic reach reeeeeeeeaaaaach school, interviewed 1/14 and back UR again on 1/25.

Also, hope everybody is doing well! Been MIA with work but following the thread in downtime. So big grats to all you guys who have had awesome news these last two weeks. I'm confident that the best is yet to come for everybody else.

Duke knows you have no ties there (?) and more attractive options coming to you. Be prepared to remain on their wait list till the summer

Wow! This makes me wonder. It would be interesting to see how many urms took the test and how they did. Looks like the application pool is much smaller this cycle.

Congrats!! Still hoping my letter will get here (dated Jan 22) but it's looking like...no. They asked me to email if I don't get it by the end of this coming week so hopefully they will be merciful and let me know if I have a scholly or anything via email.

On the bright side, my shit with USPS got sorted in time for my NU package to reach me today. Digging the moleskine.
