I deposited two weeks ago and NYC was my first choice. Couldn't be happier. I still can't believe it!

Did they assign you to a firm?

You don't have to tell me which one if they did. Just wondering if they assign it at decision.

Ugh...this negotiation process has to speed up. Its like a 1-2 week wait each way. Killing me.

Although I really shouldn't be complaining about more money lol

Cornell, NU, and NYU. Held at Columbia and waiting on Stanford (no shot). NYUs most likely out of the running though due to money. They would have to give me a gigantic bump for me to go and I doubt that they'll budge much.

Also WL at 6 schools lol.

If people don't get their first choice location, can you please let us know? Curious as to how much they take into account our preferences. I remember from reading the thread last year that a few ppl who put other non-NY cities didn't get it, but I believe most of those people ended up going to NYU/columbia and got placed in NY.

I'm also worried about this. I'm thinking it may just have been better to put NYC as my preference, as opposed to other non-NY cities :/ Oh, well. Crossing my fingers!

lol no, sorry if that wasn't clear. It seems like most people get placed in NY though, regardless if it was their first choice or not.

Congrats to the people admitted. Does the email contain any info regarding the starting/end dates of the internship?

No, but my interviewer told me that orientation starts on May 16th. I believe Summer Institute (which ends the program) is the last week of July. SEO is a total of 10 weeks. (2 weeks of SEO stuff + 8 weeks of internship)

Cool cool. Last year the smaller markets didn't get released until later.

Need some thoughts on this.

I know SEO needs to see a deposit confirmation before they send acceptances out. Thing is that I (STILL) haven't heard back from NYU. If it's not NYU, then it'll be, barring any unexpected event, Chicago. I don't want to deposit at Chicago just yet because I want to see what NYU has to say, but I also don't want to delay having SEO making a final decision on my app (cuz it seems like there's been some movement over the past few days).

What to do? Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Chicago's deposit seems kinda binding. Should I tell NYU to give me a decision? I feel like that'll be a little on the aggressive side but it's also been like 7 months. I'd assume I'm on the line in terms of an acceptance/wait list and don't want to have them get moody because I asked for a decision, but I really don't know what to do.

orrrr should I just wait it out and will my SEO application be fine even if my deposit confirmation is uploaded really late?
