Re: URM 2015-2016 Cycle Thread
Hey, I know there is a thread for this, but if folks are able I would love one of y'all to look at my personal statement. I like the idea of having a fellow URM's eyes on my personal statement (not that it would make a huge difference either way just a preferenece). If anyone has time, I would greatly appreciate it. And I wouldn't mind looking at yours too. If I've found out one thing it's that the more eyes on a PS the better it becomes.

Good luck to you as well!chueca910 wrote:oh ok, well best of luck! I'm most def pushing my test date back. Remember to take moments to breathe and relax, those are just as necessary as the prep!legallyblack wrote:I am taking in October for the 1st time. Checking in...Good luck to every one. This is my third cycle. Passed on the law school to pursue a Masters Degree. I hope everyone gets the results they're reaching for. I'm retaking for the October test. If you have any questions about the cycle process. I'm more than happy to answer questions.

I've been using a common TLS strategy that requires doing the first 10 questions in 10 minutes, then aiming for the first 15 questions in 15 minutes. This has immensely helped me finish LR sections within the allotted time.ThePiedPiper wrote:+1 I am still trying hard to master LR as well. That's actually a really good strategy I'm implementing it into my routine asap.AtticusRising wrote:I've been using a common TLS strategy that requires doing the first 10 questions in 10 minutes, then aiming for the first 15 questions in 15 minutes. Re: URM 2015-2016 Cycle Thread
I'd say the best way to finish within in the time limit is get good at simplifying the stimulus, don't spend time re-reading the stimulus and get through the easy questions quickly. It took me months to get to -2 or less and I used the Powerscore bible. You want to make sure you have enough time for the end of the section hard ass questions like those super annoying parallel ones.AtticusRising wrote:I've been using a common TLS strategy that requires doing the first 10 questions in 10 minutes, then aiming for the first 15 questions in 15 minutes. I heard the Powerscore bibles are dense. I really like the 4th Edition Manhattan Books that came out. That's what I have been using. They are really helpful.ltowns1 wrote:I can't stand the LR Bible lol.cc1012 wrote:It is OK. I preferred the Logical Reasoning Bible. Yep I love how they begin the book. They articulate the thought process that you need to have, and when I saw the Kennedy-Nixon comparison I jumped on that book. That made it really relatable, and my scores in LR have stabilized ever since I read the ebook. Before, my score were like a roller coaster. I'm constantly in a range of -5 to -7 now. for each section. I'm just looking to push it to that final gear .ThePiedPiper wrote:I heard the Powerscore bibles are dense. Yeah I know exactly what you mean when you say it was really relatable. From the examples and explanations. To how to attack certain problems. It really broke my old way of thinking. To the point of showing me personally what the lsat preparers really expected. Like an insight into their minds if that makes sense.ltowns1 wrote:Yep I love how they begin the book. Not applying this cycle, (probably next cycle lol) but I wanted to wish everyone good luck. Seriously too. You're already making serious moves, and I know people are proud of you.

I'm wondering would 750-850 words be too long for the Diversity Statement?
