For personal statements and diversity statements, do law schools care about margins? Both of my essays are 2.5 pages long. I know I need to edit both so that they can be within the 2 page limit. Just wondering if anyone has used narrow margins or a font besides Times New Roman. Also, should we label each essay at the top? Thanks for any help!

No labels as its not a report you're giving.

As for margins, general rule is nothing less than 1" all around. Font does not have to be TNR, but stick to 11 point at a minimum, 12 maximum.

Some schools do specify their preference in the application.

I would actually put a header at the top of your statement, especially since you're doing multiple essays. Be sure to include your LSAC number on them, too.

I need to jump on this boat. I keep screwing around with making music and hanging out with friends lol I'm just so sick of the LSAT already and it's humbling quality.

Well of course after I said that tonight things came up and now it's 10 and I feel like i've lost a night. If I start a PT now I won't be done until after midnight and I've been up since 7 and working all day so drilling will probably be counter productive (lots of reading the stimulus 10 times and going, "I still don't know what it said but I'm gonna try and answer the question anyway). But tomorrow I will get my LSAT life together.

No. Your friend will sill count toward the school's AA population. And, there are more biracial/multiracial applicants out there than you might think.

Haha that is my friend. I underwent the process a few years ago. All the law school administrators (at least at mine and a few peer schools) are worried that SCOTUS will throw out AA in admissions in June, so this is mad rush season to have many URM's.

They all have their differences. Chicago will dip super low in LSAT to admit URMs. Columbia offers a lot of leeway with GPA, but isn't that great for low LSATs, and waitlists a lot of candidates without outright rejecting them to (in my opinion) feel out if they get admitted to HYS/CN full ride. HLS, according to Gaia, is the most forgiving of low GPAs out of HYS, and is fairly predictable. Stanford is basically completely black box. Some URMs with outstanding numbers get dinged, and some URMs with bad numbers get in. Who's to say.

In my opinion, the only two schools that are "bad" at URM admissions are UVA and UPenn. Once you get in (usually contingent on meeting a median), it seems they'll offer you a lot of money, though.

By super low I thought you were suggesting high 150s. The numbers don't lie...but I've noticed if you play with the fields LSN chances generator in the slightest ways, the outcomes can become significantly different. Even though the ranges might be small...you have to think a 3.5/161 is way different than a 3.7/163

But you're right, specifically with URMs, because there might only be 5 or 6 applicants in your range over the last four years. Plus, you don't know if those rejected URMs are morons that go "Oh, I've been out of school for three years, so I'm a URM!" or accepted ones are trolls.

2 weeks 'til LSAT and I'm trying not to freak out with every positive or negative fluctuation in my score. I think the most nerve wracking part is the fact that AA cycles are so unpredictable that your score may end up being enough when you don't think it is, and the opposite. Ranges are kind of nebulous and soft factors are subjective. Oh the uncertainty...

Same here! Aim high and hope for the best. I think especially having a so-so GPA (3.45 not awful but nothing to write home about either) adds to it. low 160s could very well put me in play at t-6 but you just don't know. *buries head back into LSAT prep book*

I think a lot of us are operating on the same brain wave. I'm definitely in this boat. The pressure is getting real. I just got back into this morning while on the train. I did two timed sections of June 2007...the one with the brutal curve. I already have -7 from two sections.

Also, I tried to study on Saturday but that turned into an early jay-z listening party.
