I'm starting to get maddd butterflies in my stomach about this cycle. I'm in the CR2 group at Berkeley that's supposed to be getting decisions on/around Friday and this is playing all kinds of tricks on my mind, driving me insane! I don't remember being this nervous about undergrad admissions lol
also got my first UCR at Penn today.

Congrats to all of you and all your awesome acceptances!!!!
I think I am officially the queen of waitlists. Currently waitlisted at UPenn, GULC, reserved at Columbia and held at Harvard. If anyone knows of the likelihood of gettin off of any of these lists plz do weigh in.
In at Vanderbilt and Illinois. At this point Vandy is looking like where I will most likely end up.

First, congrats on your admissions! Vandy really is a great school and I had it as my go to school as well. Did you send apps anywhere else in the t14? Waitlists are notoriously tough to get off of, but I am not speaking with numbers in handTop14dreams wrote:Congrats to all of you and all your awesome acceptances!!!!

Congrats to all the people who've been getting in this last page. Looks like things are speeding up.
Random question that no one may know the answer to: If you've gon complete already and send i nan addition(say, a DS) will that affect your application's review speed drastically? I mean, of course it'll likely add some time but are we talking a couple of days, maybe a few weeks?
I dunno I emailed someone in the BLSA at Yale who told me it was ok to send in a DS after application went complete. But I'm going back and forth on whether this is a good idea.

Re: URM 2010-2011 Application Cycle
I've heard it's good to send in a 'Why I Love Your School and What I Can Add' type letter afterwards, if things are going a bit slow. But make sure it's well tailored to the school. Identify groups, programs, etc. that you're interested in and clearly show what you can offer. I'm not sure how much it speeds things up, but it can help to show you're really interested and not just looking for an acceptance, if you didn't send in a tailored PS initially.

Shouldn't you be waiting on Yale? Also, Stanford...?tkgrrett wrote:Im pretty sure Ive decided to take Harvard over full rides at UVA, UMich and UC-Berk. Any interest in me posting my line of reasoning?

Re: URM 2010-2011 Application Cycle
Never applied to Yale(have zero interest in attending over either Stanford or Harvard). Stanford is still an option but the longer I wait the closer they push up against scholarship and deposit deadlines. This is especially important because I would have to wait for an official financial aid offer and because of a family situation my case will likely require some extra paperwork and an appeals process(it did at Harvard). If nothing else, I could treat Stanford like a waitlist and leave the app open after depositing at H.GAIAtheCHEERLEADER wrote:Shouldn't you be waiting on Yale?
