Let's play figure out what in the world is going on with Cornell.

I just got an email from them trying to get me to apply, 2 mos after deadline and after wait listing my effective twin (incl undergrad) GW. This one doesn't make sense to me.

Any thoughts? Are they fishing for more people to YP?

That's what I'm thinking, although I think in general they've been arbitrarily selective this cycle. I've seen applicants with strikingly low numbers get accepted on LSN.

There have been 2 days of ding waves, but no URMs from the google doc have gotten the axe yet (I literally just knocked on wood while writing this). I'm assuming we'll get movement in the next couple weeks, but they may hold onto us until deposits are due. It seems like they may be having a hard time locking down their URM yield.

Hang in there, guys! I feel your pain, I am on 4 waitlists right now, 1 is my dream school, but for better or for worse, as URMs we all knew we were in for a longer wait. On the bright side, during my SEO interview yest., I was told that they frequently have to change about 50% of the nametags over the summer b/c ppl have gotten off the waitlist at their choice schools. Something to look forward to, no?
