Congrats to all the CLS acceptees
Looks like CLS is extending lots of offers this cycle. May be that's good news for HYS applicants!

They just sent pictures of themselves all the time. I'm not sure if we as a collective are ready for that step.ballcaps wrote:guys, the 13-14 thread has 357 pages.

Re: URM 2014-2015 Cycle Thread
How likely is it that all of my applications will be like this?
165/3.72 GPA/Mexican-American Male/Teach for America/Good softs + resume (subjective)/great LoR
I applied to Berkeley on 1/2/15, got my file under review by 1/12/15 and got my decision (admission) by 1/22/15.
I applied to Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Chicago, UCLA, Cornell and Berkeley...
Hoping for at least an admission from one of the Big 3, because I'd pay sticker price for any of the 3.

Wow congrats on Berkeley! That was fast. Teach for America is a great soft to have.Oskosh wrote:How likely is it that all of my applications will be like this?

Like posted the photos directly in the thread? I would be so nervous about being internet judged.Yaaaas2013 wrote:They just sent pictures of themselves all the time. I'm not sure if we as a collective are ready for that step.ballcaps wrote:guys, the 13-14 thread has 357 pages.

ETA: Congrats, Oskosh. Very quick turnaround from Berk. I probably wouldn't expect anything that fast from the others, but there are other people in this thread who know better than I do.

Missing Columbia too. May be he does not like NY?gamerish wrote:I'd really consider throwing an app at NYU if I were you, unless you have a specific reason to not attend.Oskosh wrote:How likely is it that all of my applications will be like this?

I submitted my app 3 days after you and had the same dates as you after that. Crazy fast response. I'd love to see some other schools follow suit =)

1) hello. you and me are quite similar. pm me if you want.Oskosh wrote:How likely is it that all of my applications will be like this?

2) your school list is a little scattershot - you've left out schools (e.g. NYU, columbia) that are similar but better in every way to schools you've included (in this example, cornell.) do you despite NYC?
where do you want to live/work?
and no, 20 days from submit-->accept is extremely, extremely unusual.

Re: URM 2014-2015 Cycle Thread
Not likely...Yale and Stanford are black boxes that can take a very long time. Definitely don't expect either one until April. Cornell I've heard is quite slow too. Harvard should come more quickly, as I think a January submit date would put you on track for perhaps a March JS2 if all goes well.Oskosh wrote:How likely is it that all of my applications will be like this?
