Fitness for sure. Recreational reading. Working. Video games... I like BF4 on PS4 but there are plenty of fun games out there. Spend time with your SO now if you want to survive law school with relationship intact. Anything fun on your radar!

(I know, not all hobbies)

I've been using up all this pent up energy by convincing myself to get active at least once a day. Hiking/Gym/Sports, I really dropped the ball while I was studying for my LSAT and now I'm using this time to get it back!

Hey y'all!

Bored at work, so I thought I'd throw out a few updates.

Admitted to Emory on Monday with some scholarship money (105k).

I had my SEO interview this afternoon. It went well overall, but I'm concerned about my responses to the fact pattern questions. We will see though!

Just got my first acceptance, so I guess I'm checking in! Accepted at UCLA! Hoping this bodes well for my (kind of late) cycle.

No acceptance news BUT I got an interview invite with WashU :) I applied 2 years ago (when I had no business doing so given my LSAT) and got flat out rejected... So progress

Congrats all on your good news!!

Re: hobbies, I can sink hours and hours of my life into The Elder Scrolls games. I'm currently playing Skyrim on the PS3.

What are y'all's favorite activities for getting/staying fit? I'm thinking of starting couch to 5k because right now I am so couch.

I neither watch TV nor play video games... I TLS and LSN all day.

effmylife

But actually, I sometimes watch TV (Archer, Shondaland).

I'm not too sure about tomorrow. I'm hoping more J1s (I don't really have a chance at getting one, but I've also yet to be dinged). I think Penn will wait until Friday. I'd like more NU and Chicago since these last waves felt smaller, but I doubt that will happen. Maybe some non-PT Duke movement? Otherwise, I feel like it's gonna be a pretty slow Thursday.

Yes! Congrats!!!

Regarding getting fit, I just got the Nike Training Club app and it is awesome and butt-kicking. Bonus: you can do all your workouts from home! And there are tons of them on there, a bunch of them by famous athletes.

Congrats on Columbia! I'm unfortunately going to withdraw my app, as I missed the fine print (and the posts earlier in the thread) about submitting an employment LOR. I hadn't planned on letting anyone at work know this early - I really want to wait until I know it's actually a possibility (i.e. an acceptance or two and some financial aid offers). Columbia wasn't my top choice but am still a little bummed.

I think it would probably be a mistake to withdraw your app under those circumstances.

I'm just not convinced the employment LOR is really a big deal. Worst comes to worst, they reject you outright. Why not give them the opportunity?

Depending on your stats, they might turn a blind eye, if they care at all.

At least wait for Columbia to ask for the rec.

They emailed me and asked for it :( On the plus side for others, apparently they do take a 'holistic look' at your application and actually read your LORs.
