I just went through that. Still working on it... There's just not enough space, and when I reread it I feel like there's 1000000 holes and 10000000 flaws. I question my sanity and just take a nap

Time to go work out. I've been studying since 1:00PM. I'll get back on it after I work out. I hope whatever school I end up at has ice gym facilities.

Hey on the PS is it okay if I use Garamond instead of Times New Roman?

On a related subject... is it okay if I go over two pages by two lines? Or is anything over two a bad thing??

Depends on the school. If they say keep it under 2, then keep it under 2. A lot of schools will say anything from 2-4 though.

I was just wondering how many schools are you guys applying to? Also how did you narrow down your list?

I currently have a list of about 14 schools. 12/14 T14 schools and 2 from my home state.

Hello,

I have a quick question – I was wondering if School X offered merit-based application fee waivers, and if I would qualify for one. My information is:

LSDAS GPA: x.xx

LSAT SCORE: xxx

LSAC ACCOUNT NUMBER: Lxxxxxxxx

Thank you for your time,

Hopeful Law Student
This is what I sent to schools when I was applying to law school and couldn't afford to pay hundreds of dollars in law school application fees. I got a lot of good responses, even from schools in the T-14.

Dear X Law School Admission Staff,

I am very interested in applying to X Law School, but am currently facing financial hardship and will be unable to apply if not granted a fee waiver. Please apprise me of the necessary steps I must take to qualify for a need-based fee waiver.

My LSAC account number is: 00000000000

Thank you very much,

Law School Candidate

I'm applying to about 15 schools maximum, about 8 of which I have fee waivers for, and abou 6 of which I would actually attend. I narrowed down to only schools I would want to attend and schools that I don't really want to attend but I could use the acceptances for scholarship negotiations or just confidence boosters.

Right now I have a list of 13 t14 schools, and in the next few weeks I'll probably cut out another 2 or 3 that I don't really see myself attending because of their location, culture, AAs enrolled, lack of specific academic opportunities I want, etc.

What are you trying to score?! Most people would be happy with -2. I got that in October and I felt like the man!

Georgetown and Michigan fee waivers came in, so that is 8 for 14. Hoping for Cornell next week!

I think I will send the following apps out next week: Penn, Chicago, Michigan, Duke and Georgetown. UVA and Northwestern are already out.

I figure I can hold off on H and S as they generally don't start admitting URM apps until March/April and I will need a stronger LSAT. Still uncertain on when I will send out Berkeley, Cornell, NYU and Columbia...don't know if I should wait until my new score or send now. Ugh. :?

You should have a waiver from Cornell for sure any day now, they really love URMS.

Are you doing a Why Michigan? From their URM stats, I'm not sure I am even going to apply there.

Is Mich not URM friendly?

Yup, I am writing one. Are the URM stats that bad?? I figure it can't be anymore worse than Berkeley or Chicago.

Mich tends to throw money out so if need be, you can negotiate. :)

Ideally a 170+, but I would be perfectly content with a 168. Once you get into the upper score range, those 2 points count. That -2, coupled with dumb mistakes on LR brought down my score.

Michiagan is the one t14 school I'm definitely not applying to at this point. I think there are only 10 AAs in the class of 2015, which is less than 3% of the class. Plus, I just don't think I can get down with Ann Arbor.
