Out of the people going to Iowa has anyone received any travel info? Specifically where we'll be staying and what time we should get to Iowa and when we can leave?

I've been waiting on this info for a while. Hopefully we'll hear about it sooner rather than later.

Out of the people going to Iowa has anyone received any travel info? Specifically where we'll be staying and what time we should get to Iowa and when we can leave?
From what I remember, the people last year got travel info and program info via email on March 31, and the 2009 group got travel info before April 10.

I went out on a limb and bought my ticket on the bus so I'll be there Sunday June 5 around 3:30pm. Apparently the bus stops like 2 miles from the campus. It was $10 for the ticket, so I won't be too upset if they change the date/time on me.

I did some digging on Drake, and they have a few residence halls http://www.drake.edu/life/residencelife/halls/ Looks like the law students stay in off-campus apartments, but I'm sure we'll be in dorms.

I'm also hoping they'll let us use the gym: http://www.drake.edu/life/recservices/ From what I read last year, they give us student IDs for the school, so hopefully that gets us into the gym. :D

In the email I received after making the final payment it stated:
Please book your airline flights or make other travel arrangements as soon as possible to take advantage of good rates. You should plan to arrive no later than 3pm CST on June 5, 2011. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at bernetta.hayes@americanbar.org. Please fill out the form that is attached and fax to CLEO at 202.828.1009 upon receipt.
So at least you know when to arrive :D

Unfortunately I applied late and they are out of low income seats. Anyone have 2000 buck I can borrow till 2014?

Yeah I kinda get the impression that the cheap seats went with the people who applied early. Fortunately, from what I've read, the return on your investment of $2000 will come back in spades.

No need.they'd never send us to a middle of nowhere location like Idaho! They're actually sending us to the other sprawling, vibrant, and worldly metropolitan of Des Moines, IA. All those rabbit feet worked after all :lol: :lol: :lol:

One thing we will not have to worry about in Iowa is all of this earthquake craziness going on all around the Pacific. :shock:

Im sure the investment will be worth it. I just wish they gave you more than a week to get it together. I may see whats up with pockets around that time and see what I can work out. Apparently I've been placed on a "rather lengthy" low income seat wait list.

Theres a waitlist? When I asked if there was any possible way I could receive a low income seat, I was told no.

Once I recieved my email I immediately told her there was no way I could afford it and I outright asked if there was a waitlist. She said it was lengthy so I doubt I will come off of it or whatever. Last hope is to win a scratch off lottery card before the sessions begin.

yea that 2G's is kinda steep...especially if you gotta get it together in a week. I thought the later you got a response, would be the longer you had to get the money up

I was accepted last week but they haven't received my check yet, so I was told they cannot reveal which location I will be placed in. Anyone else in the same boat?

So I live in San Diego and really don't have the money to go to Iowa or want to (im married and would prefer staying in San Diego)

I'm going to send the check tomorrow with the full 2000 so that I can know where I get placed!

According to the information they place you in the school closest to your home so I'm thinking it is a pretty safe bet you will stay in San Diego. :)

FYI these plane tickets to Iowa are far from cheap :shock: . Looking like $500. You might want to wait around for the decrease in global oil prices or do like me and possibly consider on making it a road trip event! Hah I think driving thru the "random" midwest states should be interesting.
