Don't want to sound cocky but have some skills. I'm actually looking forward to being at a school where I can randomly run pick up game instead of having to coordinate things.

I did. These fee waivers are saving my LIFE. And NYU was the highest school I planned to apply too so hopefully the schools ranked lower start sending more waivers my way

I'm thrilled with fee waiver from NYU. Are fee waivers selective or do they just give them out to whoever?

Oh ok... I see. I was worried when I got Penn with a 155, but they might have been extending it to alumni at that time.

Columbia and NYU have serious bball teams that compete every year. You can find clips on youtube.

It hurts to see so many fellow HBCU students just settle, non-HBCU students as well. The I got a "152", that's awesome, I'm going to Famu Law, Barry Law, Howard, etc. And while those schools might be awesome for some people, I just think most students, many HBCU students aren't aware of the opportunity they have. I was in the same boat before I graduated. I was almost sold on going to Barry Law right out of college because one advisor walked up to me and told me all these great things about the school, which luckily I ended up researching and it turned out to be BS. Sigh... let me stop while I'm ahead. I almost went on a very long rant

When I got a 149 in 2011 I was sold on Howard. I applied in February and got wait listed for a week and was admitted but something told me to chill and now I can't thank God enough

If I had a dollar for every "advisor" that advised BS, I would be a millionaire. If only more applicants took the time to research. Unfortunately, we here on TLS are a small group....

I've never understood how there are so many terrible pre-law advisers. I could understand a few spread out around colleges, but it's a systemic problem.

I just got the fee waiver email. I was salty since they didn't give me one in September when I requested!

Okay I need a URM perspective on my dilemma. Scored 165 in October, 3.3X gpa, MA. I would have had a 168/169 if I went -0 on LG like I was doing during practice.
I am confident I can hit 170 by December and want to retake. However, my practice group is going to trial in the next few weeks. All hands on deck type deal. Not sure how much time I will have to stay sharp/improve.
What do you guys think about applying now with my current stats and then taking in February? I would prefer to begin next fall.

Berkeley doesn't do merit based waivers, only need (and I think there might be a way to get one if you're public interest focused).
