I am waiting on HYS (especially S) and Chicago. But the fact that deadlines and deposits are right on the horizon is giving me pause about my chances.

Re: URM 2012-2013 Cycle... let's go!
Tomorrow will be my two month "complete-aversary" for HLS...no word.
Still no word back from Stanford, U Penn and U of Chicago either, all complete around the same date as well.
If there are any URMs who are currently at any of these schools perusing this board, some words of advice/consolation would be really awesome right now.
Also, I'm waitlisted at 3 schools...is that normal? I have a feeling 2 of them might be YP-ing me, but I'm really hoping to get off the WL at Columbia and I wonder if the success rate of waitlisted URM students mirrors that of non-URMs, or if URMs being waitlisted and then accepted is somewhat more likely.

I'm still waiting on
Stanford
Columbia
Chicago
NYU
Penn
Duke
USC
UCLA
Mostly waiting for USC and UCLA because those are the two where I feel like I have a shot, Columbia and NYU are my favorites, they're long shots so for now I'm just happy they haven't rejected me yet but I get more anxious every day (especially when I see who they are accepting).

I didn't apply to any T-14 but I'm in at UCI and USC with $$$. Still waiting on UCLA before I decide!

Why not? Even if you were sure you wouldn't leave CA, Berkeley and Stanford are great options.meowth wrote:I didn't apply to any T-14 but I'm in at UCI and USC with $$$. Still waiting on UCLA before I decide!

Yeah I get you. I only applied local because I knew I wanted to study and practice in So Cal. Plus, I would definitely not want to spend a large portion of the next 3 years away from my significant other and family (would be tough enough balancing law school and a relationship, but I cannot even imagine adding long-distance to the equation).wbrother wrote:Why not? Re: URM 2012-2013 Cycle... let's go!
I've stopped counting how long its been since my HLS interview, let's just say I'm past that 40 days and 40 nights milestone. No hold, no wait list - so I imagine that's good news. Applied to NYU, Penn, Columbia and Yale - all radio silence. I'm wondering if March 18th really isn't as late in the cycle as it seems. Anyone have an answer?

Seems like a lot of us are in that waiting place. I'm still waiting on Northwestern and Duke to tell me something and I'm WL'd at UCLA. It's looking more and more like USC is the place for me.

I've had a couple weeks of silence (for the most part), too. It's killing me. HLS apparently hasn't had much activity over the past couple weeks, so I bet you're overdue for your JS2/KB2.d330 wrote:I've stopped counting how long its been since my HLS interview, let's just say I'm past that 40 days and 40 nights milestone. GULC offered me 30k/year today, so while I was unsure of whether or not I'll attend law school, this means that I will be attending somewhere this fall. Still waiting on those other 9 schools to get back to me, and for either Chicago/HLS to offer me an interview.

Nice bro. I know you've been sweating this. You've probably got more coming with your numbers.HankBashir wrote:GULC offered me 30k/year today, so while I was unsure of whether or not I'll attend law school, this means that I will be attending somewhere this fall. Congrats. School for free - you have a tough decision. I was talking to someone the other day and regardless that debt is heavy. Harvard is Harvard though, and if I get in I'll be facing a similar question. Good luck.2012applicant2013 wrote:Got a Ruby from Chicago! I was pretty set on Harvard but now I'm completely confused.

So is now the appropriate time to send out LOCI's to schools I haven't heard back from? It looks like for all of them they've gotten back to people who applied around the same time as me but I still haven't heard anything and from what I can tell there's not a whole lot of movement on my application. They haven't rejected me which is good but I can picture my file collecting dust in a corner.

Well, my cycle is Basically over now (only waiting on UCLA). Unfortunately, I did not break the T14. Waitlisted at UVA, reserved at Cornell and preferred waitlisted at Georgetown. Haven't decided if I am sticking out Georgetown or Cornell yet.
I am hopeful USC comes through for me and gives me money, but you never know since I didn't apply till janurary :/. Anyhow, best of luck to everyone elves cycle.
