In: UF w/12,000 a year, Berkeley, NYU, Harvard, Iowa w/full ride
Waiting: Yale, Duke, Columbia, Cornell, Northwestern, Chicago, U Penn, Virginia, Michigan
I hope that somewhere in the T14 I will be offered a full ride. If so then that's where I'm headed. If not then I guess I have to say hello to debt.

Harvard has a pretty good loan repayment plan I think. You may not have to be afraid of debt if you go there..

Re: URM 2010-2011 Application Cycle
ehh you only wish it was that easy. Once you get the full ride you will start questioning whether you should still take Harvard(or potentially Yale depending on which you prefer). FWIW, A LOT of money might be opening up soon at UVA as multiple people with full rides choose other schools.chrissyc wrote:In: UF w/12,000 a year, Berkeley, NYU, Harvard, Iowa w/full ride

Wait listed at Duke this weekend. First WL in the T14...wasn't going there anyway but still kind of stings. However, In at Chicago!!! That definitely helps lessen the sting.

On that note, is there a generally accepted date by which you should drop schools you aren't going to? I've narrowed it down - most likely - to two schools, but I'm not 100% confident enough to shut down my other offers. My current timeline is to do so in mid-March, after I've taken visits and decided for sure, but if there's places I probably won't go should I withdraw now?

Re: URM 2010-2011 Application Cycle
I mean the only "hard" deadline would be when seat deposits are due (in April for most schools, iirc). Other than that withdrawing earlier is just being courteous to both the school and other potential admits.CryingMonkey wrote:On that note, is there a generally accepted date by which you should drop schools you aren't going to? Have not made the final decision yet, but I can only see myself turning down UVA if Vanderbilt offers me a full scholarship. So, in all likelihood, I am heading to Charlottesville.tkgrrett wrote:So how many people have made final decisions?? Im not even close.

not even close. in at harvard, berkeley, UF, Iowa, NYU and Duke but only $$ from UF...I want to live in Florida after law school so if I don't get a full scholly from somewhere then I will likely end up at UF.
