If however you're just not 100% sure that you'll be ready by September, but you might, I'd say take it in September. If you study your butt off between now and then+ perform better than expected, you can apply early this cycle and end up with your best case scenario. If you don't perform as well in sept. as you'd like, then you can take it a third time in December and basically Be in the same place you would be if you skipped September.

I'm less risk averse as some (not suggested for everyone), but I'd like to at least take a shot at my best case scenario if at all possible.
I disagree. If they do June, September, December, they're cashed out on the LSAT until September 2016.

@meeshellzswell: I think you should take it in December. You'll be better prepared and hopefully can maximize your potential then. Having meaningful time between tests, as opposed to taking it three consecutive times, will be better for you from a preparation standpoint. If you still don't like your score, and are dead set on going this year, you can take it in February as a last ditch effort. If you aren't all in on 14-15 cycle, you preserve the opportunity to take a few more months to study and take it in June 2015.

Checking in! I hope I'm not too late to the party. Will be sitting the September LSAT, and putting the finishing touches on my Personal Statement / starting my diversity statement soon.

Best of luck to all of the other URMs this cycle!

No, your "race" would be white. I agree, it's a stupid question. :D

Sometimes I find it incredible that checking a particular box can be such a boost to an application. If I were white, I'd be sorely tempted to take advantage of it. How can they tell you how you identify? Plus I doubt admissions officers go to the trouble of verifying people's ancestry.

When the bar sees that you claimed you were a URM, but had never claimed that before or clearly are not, they will take exception.

If anyone wants to trade Yale 250s, personal statements, and/or diversity statements, PM me.

I'm biracial. Half AA half white. I look 100% white. They're going to send me to jail. :(

If you bear any resemblance to the dude in your picture, you don't look white. You look black, just light-skinned.

I'm not concerned. I've always claimed to be biracial. I just think it's interesting how different people view things. White people tell me I look white, black people tell me I look black. Depends on the eyeglass ;)

We're about the same shade, Fairchild. I think it's important to always identify as both. If people don't notice or cannot tell, that's their problem.

Hey, quick question. I know that Yale has the 12 point system, so how does URM bump factor into that? Especially since there is no place to put race/ethnicity in the application.

Thanks!

There is no way to accurately answer that question. However, it seems safe to assume Yale's evaluators know your race and take it into consideration.

I'm not sure how that effects you anyway. If you want to go there, then apply. A comprehensive knowledge of their admissions process has no bearing on your application's outcome.

I'll for sure apply. I was just wondering, partly out of curiosity. But I also wanted to make sure I put forth the strongest application I could.

And Yale doesn't have a Diversity Statement, so I was wondering how they take diversity into consideration. Should I include aspects of my DS into my PS or 250?

Yale doesn't allow a Diversity Statement?

Yale allows Diversity Statements, but it's not an official essay submission. It would have to be submitted as an addendum. At least that is what I understand from this Blog Post. I am not sure if I want to submit a separate one or include some of he material in my PS/250.

Waiting on LORs and avoiding writing my PS. I guess I will write my "Why X" essays soon.

I'm hoping to be ready to submit by mid-Oct. Still waffling on whether or not I'm going to toss an app Y's way.

I'm stuck waiting on my LOR's, everything else is ready to go. Frustrated that I am having to wait on other people. But nothing I can do about it.

I'm in the midst of waiting to hear from a job, so I am holding off on my applications until I get the word. Plus I don't get paid until the 15th...

Everything is ready to go except Why X Essays. I've yet to take the LSAT (that changes on the 27th). I'm trying not to hang out here too much as it would be extremely disappointing if I underperform :( Back to Logc Games I'll join y'all fully force when I know I can solidly confirm my status
