If there is one thread for me to drunk-TLS in, though, I'm glad it's this one

To keep this on topic, where's everyone headed next year? I know it's early for final decisions.

No idea. Y'all will be the first to know, though. I need to go see what each school has to offer first.soj wrote:To keep this on topic, where's everyone headed next year? I know it's early for final decisions.

I was home watching Netflix. I wonder why all gay themed movies are so bad?alwayssunnyinfl wrote:LOLJayJones78 wrote:I was happy that the thread was quiet saturday cause I assumed it's because everyone is getting it on

They just are. Trust me, I've seen them all. The best you can hope for is some decent eye-candy and an occasional chuckle.JayJones78 wrote:I was home watching Netflix. With the exception being Violet Tendencies. That was a solid movie. And I'm just gonna say it. Brokeback was overrated as hell.

I think any movie that derives all of its worth from being a "gay" movie is just as trite and obnoxious as most rom-coms or "chick flicks." Just as being gay is not the most important part of my life, films can be amazing when the main or supporting characters are gay but also human. Brokeback Mountain was a decent example, but I think A Single Man is a better illustration of this since the fact that the main character is gay was not the main point of the film at all. His homosexuality added a level of depth that straight people can understand and identify with, too.

Biopics are different.JayJones78 wrote: Oh, and Milk was also an incredible movie
And of course, anything that self-identifies as a "gay" movie is probably going to be shit.

Yossi & Jagger, has anyone watched this one?
Presumingly I think it's pretty good.

Very very good movies. There's a sequel called "Yossi" that was released a few months ago. I found the whole thing on YouTube and watched it a few weeks ago. Pretty good though a big too short

To get back off topic, just to get my mind off my pending apps I'm reading Andy Cohen's book Most Talkative. So far I really like it! Really fun, easy going and funny. I can also relate to many of his growing up stuff and it made me laugh.

I'm pretty sure it's straight friendly. If it's not, I will infiltrate it if we end up at the same school and make it straight friendly.shifty_eyed wrote:LMAO i finally found the Other thread!!!alwayssunnyinfl wrote:Looks like the OutLaw meetings and Eternal, Never off the Front Page meetings are going to be roughly the same, except in one Cuse and xs20 will sit awkwardly in the corner.
