Yes still waiting and I'd appreciate itWahrheit wrote:I have kept my CRS on just for funsies, is anyone still waiting on fee waivers? Happy to tell you if/when they come.

Received Penn and Cornell via CRS but still waiting for Chicago, Columbia, NYU, Duke, Michigan, and Texas.
H/Y/S/Berkeley (unless TFA or something) are no-go's for fee-waivers correct?
If I don't receive soon then going to solicit. If I still don't get any of the above then I'm just going to have to decide how much $ I can really spare on applications and cut a few schools

Don't wait too long to apply. It is already late in the cycle.jw316 wrote:Yes still waiting and I'd appreciate itWahrheit wrote:I have kept my CRS on just for funsies, is anyone still waiting on fee waivers? Happy to tell you if/when they come.

My understanding is that HYS don't send fee waivers, you must solicit based on need - though I did get recruitment from both HY (nothing from Stanford, yet anyway). Yale sent me a huge awesome physical package in the mail with their standard recruitment stuff + a TON of info and advice from NALSA.
when did you get your NALSA info from Yale? Also can you pm me ur numbers?

I'm bored at work...let's talk about the poll!
Seems like NYC and Chicago have taken the lead...curious if y'all are from the area or just like the cities.
Personal fun fact: I've never been further east in the U.S. than Phoenix, Arizona.

I definitely will visit UChi/NU if I'm lucky enough to get in! Seems like a cool place. I'm definitely a bit sick of doing the suburban thing for so long...living in a city like NYC or Chicago would be a great change of pace (at least for a few years).Wahrheit wrote:Chicago feels less cramped than NYC with similar options and lots of culture. Who knows, I might hate it after 3 years but at the moment it's where I think I'd like to be.lc39 wrote:I'm bored at work...let's talk about the poll!

Yeah I feel the same. My undergrad was in a university town, and I grew up in a university town. So I'm really ready for a change. I want there to be some kind of life outside of the university - even if I do end up spending the majority of my time there!lc39 wrote:I definitely will visit UChi/NU if I'm lucky enough to get in! Do any of you have strong feelings about California? I've put off applying there because it just seems so... sunny and unsuited to my disposition. But realise that's a dumbass reason and I should probs just do it. Are there any real cons?

My undergrad was also pretty much a bubble. Most people live on campus because rents in the area are so expensive (2000 is a "good deal" for a 1BR) and there's nothing much to do in the immediate vicinity.alloverthat wrote:Yeah I feel the same.
