Funny point:
Chicago persuades people to go there by offering them a scholarship named Rubenstein.
Harvard persuades people to go there by giving them a phone call from a guy named Rubenstein.
And given both, many would choose the latter.

WL at GWU
Almost worse than a ding... I think I'd rather have a clean break than have to decide if it's worth waiting it out/putting in the extra effort of new transcripts, LORs, LOCIs, etc.

I wouldn't. But it us easier to say that when the choice has been made for you by the fact that neither option is on the table.tkgrrett wrote:hmm.. would you guys really choose Harvard over the Rubenstein??

Hey! How goes it with Penn? I'm pretty sure you're in a better place with a "hold," than with a waitlist.Kaitlyn wrote:tkgrrett wrote:Fresh wrote:GUESSING YOU MEAN JR2! Congratssssssssssjd20132013 wrote:AGH i just got a JD2

Congrats. Your response makes it sound like they are atop your list. I would be surprised if I didn't end up there. Congrats again and hope to see you in Charlottesville.socraticmethodman wrote:In at UVA, aa male 3.65/156...... this is surreal.... I almost cried during the call.

Re: URM 2010-2011 Application Cycle
A well deserved penance. I attempted to make no excuses but to explain it as a mixture of family issues, immaturity, and pursuing an area of study out of obligation and not actual interest. My transcript is a mess and screams "laziness", so I knew schools would feel wary about it. I just know that some school that takes a chance on me is going to be pleasantly surprised!LAWLAW09 wrote:Byakuya769 wrote:getting beat up pretty bad, rejects at harvard (duh), berkeley, and ucla. sorry to hear that (mainly b/c you would've had diff results with an extra .03 on ur gpa).
how did you address your gpa within your application?
