Yeah, Denver is HORRIBLY snowy and cold, ALL THE TIME! It's like, frequently below zero with 7 feet piled up and you can't even leave your house. It's just terrible. Don't come here.

Muchas gracias! At your leisure...

It IS beautiful today. If I didn't have the flu, I'd go... bust out the dogsled, build an igloo, or at least just adjust the earflaps on my hat against the arctic winds and blowing snow.

Having lived in Austin for a number of years, I can vouch for the fact that it is a great city, minus the AWFUL traffic. It has everything you could really want from a big city (awesome food, great live music, good bars and movie theaters you can drinkin, museums, all kinds of out-doorsy shit, sports, politics), but with a small-city kind of feel to it. It has a friendly southern charm, but without the KKK presence you might expect in some other southern cities of the same size. And there are lots of beautiful women walking around.

I have been touring as a musician for the last 10 years, and have spent time in pretty much every major city in the US. As an underground band rock band, you start out playing in the worst areas of every town you tour through. The "bad area" of Austin are waaaaaay better than the "bad areas" of almost any other city I have toured through, FWIW.

Anyone picking a city other than San Diego has probably never been there. Its only drawback is cost of living.

While San Diego is great, it is not the same kind of a city as most huge cities. It has a somewhat small downtown and the rest isn't very city-like. Some may see this as a drawback, others may like it.

Stop the trolling. There is no way LA is higher than any of those cities in quality of life. You are really annoying.

Yeah, SD has perfect weather and nice scenery but the city as a whole is quite vanilla and way too slow paced.

I cant speak on behalf of most cities on the list, but if someone tells me LA is better than SF in any aspect of QOL, I know he/she is not being serious...

The weather in NYC is cold and rainy, it's fucking expensive to live there, and it's the home of Fox News.

Yea, not a major decision factor for a lot of people. When NYC is the home of a lot of things, there are bound to be some things that you don't like.

It seems like everyone is ragging on San Diego for being expensive, but from what I've read housing prices have gone down a significant amount there over the last few years... something that hasn't really happened in, say, New York.

If I had to pick a city in CA (my new home [until I'm done with law school anyway]), I'd go with SD. Los Angeles is a pretty crappy place unless you're rich enough to live in Beverly Hills/Bel Air/Westwood/etc.

I know you're being sarcastic, but I don't like any snow at all, and it doesn't snow in Seattle or at least not often.

Yes because everyone loves the same things.
Some people do not like warm weather.
Some people like to ski.
Some people do not like heavily populated areas.
Some people do not like cities without NBA teams.
Some people do not like driving. Or traffic.
Some people enjoy living on the east coast.
Some people dislike Hollywood.
And some people do not like living in a state that is bankrupt.

There are tons of reasons not to pick San Diego.

I agree, besides the weather, SD is highly overrated. It's nice to be a tourist in the city, but to live here is another story altogether. I'd like to try a different part of the country going into law school perhaps.

Isn't any city by definition a "heavily populated area"?

Also, I'm not sure how Hollywood got dragged into this...

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
