Dude, if I was good at decisions I'd be getting my MBA, not my JD.Cleareyes wrote:Don't you have to make this decision at some point, honeycakes?rayiner wrote:Normally, GMU (#41). ITE: who knows?

Re: what's the lowest ranked law school you would attend?
Well, I think originally, I would've said a top 100, now, I feel ok about the non-NYC large market 60s-ish ranked schools. Thats about my lowest....
That being said, it is all about what you want to do, and what your end-goals are... and it can vary for different people....

EDIT: that was, perhaps, a bit harsh...but I've given up on trying to get people to use the search function. Lazy wins every time.dextermorgan wrote:Dejafuckingvu:http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... uld+attend

I wouldn't attend anything under T18 at full price. Full ride? Don't know.

Yeah, this poll is stupid without two bits of context:hoffb86 wrote:Well, I think originally, I would've said a top 100, now, I feel ok about the non-NYC large market 60s-ish ranked schools. Thats about my lowest....

1) Debt
2) Alternate prospects
In my case, I'd have to make $100k out of law school to break even salary-wise, factoring in loan payments. My cost/benefit analysis is going to be completely different than other people with different situations. If you're academia or bust, HYSC might be your limit. If you just want to be a PD, Tier3 in your region of choice might be OK.

That was kind of before the economic meltdown. Heck, my perspectives have changed just in the last two months...mallard wrote:Man, this was awhile ago.

Re: what's the lowest ranked law school you would attend?
I want academia and probably wouldn't have gone below T14-18, unless I hoped to pull off some kind of transfer scheme. But I think Michigan will give me enough of a shot, even though it's not HYSC. I can deal with the odds being against me and if I fail at academia, I will fashion some kind of workable backup plan. But I wouldn't have gone to a school that sends virtually nobody to academia.rayiner wrote: In my case, I'd have to make $100k out of law school to break even salary-wise, factoring in loan payments. Full ride = Any one of a few T4 schools.
