I would rather live in NYC, but know that Chicago is the conventionally "better" school.

I do think that, for someone who wants to live and work in NYC after law school, NYU is the superior choice compared to UVA. There are tons of NYU grads everywhere in NYC, at all the top firms and top PI and government employers (ACLU national, U.S. attorneys' office, etc.) The same cannot be said for UVA. (That's probably because there are fewer UVA grads and fewer of those grads choose to go to NYC, but still.)
