What are your actual COAs at each? What are your career goals? Where do you want to work? Current LSAT/GPA?
No one can answer your question in a void. These are both regional schools, and the answer depends on the specifics of your situation.

Yeah, agreed with Cav.
Go to the one that is free/cheapest in the state you want to be in. These schools aren't worth 75k+ in debt- and they are great for modest outcomes and goals in state.
If you want to practice in Mich, go to MSU. If you want to practice in NE, go to Nebraska. Ranks don't matter after the top 13-20 or so, depending on your cut-off; they are just gonna be regional/state schools. Nobody in Atlanta cares that Emory or UGA are ranked lower than Arizona State, they aren't offering those gigs to AZ folks and vice versa in PHX.

In case it wasn’t clear from the previous posts, you’re thinking about it in the wrong way. It doesn’t matter at all that Nebraska is “higher ranked” than Michigan State. They’re both regional schools. And frankly, not sure why you’d consider Nebraska (at least from your post) if you’re from Michigan and don’t otherwise have ties to Nebraska? You honestly might want to sit and think about your law school application strategy and what your future goals are before enrolling.

Re: Nebraska or Michigan State
Why would you go to Nebraska, a school that places around 70% of its grads in Nebraska, if you want to live in Michigan? Rankings are a made up thing for defunct magazines to stay relevant. Look at employment outcomes and debt.

Thanks guys, that pretty much makes it clear for my personal situation, wasn't sure how much weight "rankings" held up outside the top 25ish and wanted some outside opinions, thanks again!

Re: Nebraska or Michigan State
Please note that no one suggested Michigan State was a good choice for you, just that it made no sense to go to Nebraska if you want to practice in Michigan. Depending on your actual goals and COA, Michigan State might still be a bad option.Conartist97 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 10:51 amThanks guys, that pretty much makes it clear for my personal situation, wasn't sure how much weight "rankings" held up outside the top 25ish and wanted some outside opinions, thanks again!
