Northwestern BL placement in NY?
Still undecided on where I want to work after graduation, but don't want to rule out New York. LST says <20% go to New York and I don't have any prior connection to the area

Re: Northwestern BL placement in NY?
Northwestern does fine in NY. Its graduates tend to prefer [Chicago/DC > random secondary markets > NY] in that order, which is why the LST percentage is so low but actually makes the grade threshold at OCI lower for NYC firms. The other "western" schools have a similar dynamic.
The downside is that the alumni network is a bit thinner in NYC, so you might have a tougher time at the "elite" firms or if you're trying to make partner or clerk in SDNY or something. But if you just want market-paying NYC biglaw for a few years then Northwestern is as good as any other T14.
