Choosing the right Law School

Post by yanabg10 » Sat Oct 26, 2019 3:21 pm

I am new to all of this. My goal is to get JD degree in Law. Passion is to work within civil rights, disability rights, international law and immigration law. I am currently living in NYC and I plan to stay here living. I work in the field of human rights and criminal law as advocate and legal coordinator. The hardest part is that I am not so sure which school I shall go for and which one would offer me with good scholarship while the tuition fees are very high. What are your thoughts about Brooklyn Law School and New York University Law School/Columbia Law School in regard of scholarship offering? Looking forward in hearing from you soon.

You've named a very wide range of legal fields, but it sounds like "civil rights" is the general umbrella you want to work under. But what kind of organization do you imagine working for? The ACLU? A local immigration attorney?

Also, your writing makes me think English isn't your first language. Are you a US citizen? Visas are hard to come by, so that might have a big effect on your decision.
