U. Colorado vs. U. Washington

Post by hannah.roro0401 » Mon May 27, 2019 5:21 pm

I just got admitted off the waitlist for UW, without scholarship. Colorado gave me a scholarship for 44k, and I have to decide by Wednesday on whether or not to accept UW offer. I currently reside in WA, and went to UW for undergrad, but I'm very unsure now. What do some people think?

What are your career goals? Where do you want to work? Current LSAT/GPA?

I can pretty much guarantee UW is a bad choice at sticker, but that doesn't mean Colorado is a good choice for you.

Edit: Never mind, just checked the post history. Why are you asking for advice again after clearly ignoring everyone's advice in your last thread?

UW wasn’t an option at the time. And these are the two contenders now. I was hoping to get additional viewpoints. I’m not “clearly ignoring” their advice. Asking for more viewpoints isn’t ignoring prior advice.

You were told two things in your last thread (based on your desire to get a job in IP law in California):

1. Retake the LSAT.
2. Don't go to Colorado if you want to work in California.

Literally no one advocated for Colorado. Now you're deciding between two non-California regional schools for California placement, so the answer is now 100% retake the LSAT and improve your options. Neither of these schools is a good choice for you. You're looking at far too much debt, and neither one is going to position you well for practicing in California, especially in a competitive field like IP.
