BC/Fordham or St. John's?
Hi all! I would appreciate your thoughts on this. I've been mulling this over for awhile and haven't been able to come to a solid decision. I have been considering retaking and waiting till next cycle, but I fear getting a lower score on the second take.
Would like to work in NYC. I know that BC and Fordham are a gamble at biglaw in NYC. Both would be primarily debt financed. I was also considering St. John's for one year then transfer. However, I've been told not to count on being an attractive transfer candidate from St. John's to higher ranked T1s. So I would treat a decision to study at St. John's as final. Without further ado:
3.82
BC - $39k, Fordham - $75k, St. John's - Full tuition

If your goal is biglaw, none of the above. Retake/reapply.
Are the numbers you gave your COA or your scholarship offers?

None of the above. With that GPA, you should retake and go to a T14 if you want NYC.

To clarify, the numbers are scholarship offers.

Then definitely retake/reapply. St. John's is terrible, and you can't go to BC or Fordham at that price.nufmgaiw wrote:Thanks for your thoughts.cavalier1138 wrote:If your goal is biglaw, none of the above. Retake/reapply.

If you'd care to explain, why do you think St. John's is terrible?

if your goals are biglaw, retake.
if you decide on being impatient and not taking a freeroll retake (theres no penalty if your score goes down), fordham.
