Foreign LLM

Post by flyhigh_ » Mon Feb 20, 2017 10:54 pm

Hi all,

Foreign LLM student here- will potentially enroll fall 2017:

-qualified in the UK
-US permanent resident - intend to stay after graduation
-intend to work in the larger metropolitan areas - NY, Washington and so forth- not necessarily in law but can be in another capacity: compliance, AML etc
-will probably take the NY bar

Offers from Minnesota Law and UT law:
-Minnesota offered large scholarship
-UT in state tuition award (still waiting on another award confirmation)

Thoughts?

Many thanks

I'm not as familiar with the market for LLM students, but do you know where most LLMs from these schools end up after the program? Are they realistically able to go to NY or DC?

Thanks guys. I have an impression that Texas does place well around the country being a national law school (from various things I read) but yeah I would hope to get a crack in those markets - also Houston!
