Sometimes I think Wachtell is some giant fucked up test where the best of the best get to prove that they actually aren't that smart in a life-wisdom sense because you'd have to be a damned masochistic idiot to sign up for Wachtell

Wouldn't say its just prestige with Wachtell since you can pay off your loans quite a bit faster working there then any of the other 'prestigious' v10 firms

Eh - if I were 25 and single I would have gone to Wachtell (assuming I had the option). They pay literally double what most firms pay, and while the amount of work is shitty, is it twice as shitty as the rest of BigLaw, especially NYC corporate BigLaw?

It ain't about preftige with Wachtell. In my mind its a hell of a lot more defensible than say S&C, which has a shitty reputation for treating you as a human and only pays market.
