Hey all, I know that the very common thought is to go to school in the state (or even area of the state) in which you wish to practice upon graduation. That being said, I'm a little stuck on that situation.

I grew up in PA, have a decent amount of family around Atlanta (including a practicing attorney in Atlanta, my brother, and a sister), have briefly lived in Atlanta, and currently reside in New England (moved up here Aug 2011). If I HAD to pick a state to practice in, I may say PA, b/c that is where my parents live - so, my target schools are Villanova, Temple, and PSU.

I had a 3.33 in undergrad at PSU, and currently have a 158 LSAT (but will be retaking in September, so that could improve).

Now, all this being said, I have lived on the ocean for the past few years and will incredibly miss it if I move back to a landlocked state (PA) for school and to subsequently practice. I have always wanted to move to the Carolina area, and feel like this is my last opportunity, being that taking the PA bar will really lock me in that state.

My question is, would it be murder if I attend UNC/Wake Forest/Georgia State/USCarolina (well, maybe the last two yes) and move back and try to land a mid-law gig in PA with one of those schools? Would the UNC name translate to the Philly area, since it is onlt a few states away? How about UTK?

Thanks!
