PLEASE ADVICE
I have a choice of attending AJMLS, FAMU LAW or Texas Southern for free. Need guidance plan is to attend 1L and transfer.

Horrible plan. You need to wait and reapply. What's your GPA?FutureJD45 wrote:I have a choice of attending AJMLS, FAMU LAW or Texas Southern for free. Need guidance plan is to attend 1L and transfer.
Texas Southern has a 25% employment rate. And honestly, I've been in the law school game a long time, and I have no idea what those other acronyms are. http://www.lstscorereports.com/schools/ ... hern/2015/
No one, under any circumstances, should attend these schools.

Did you know that Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University has a law school? I feel like I was happier before I knew that.mornincounselor wrote:And honestly, I've been in the law school game a long time, and I have no idea what those other acronyms are.
Seriously, OP: no. No to all of those schools, and a huge no to your plan to transfer. Retake and reapply, because it's much easier than coming in the top of your class, even at these schools.

Re: PLEASE ADVICE
You didn't read closely. He has a plan. He's going to transfer out. Obviously, despite the fact that he's border line brain dead as evidenced by the fact that he can't get into a real law school, he's going to be in the top 3% of the class, enabling him to transfer out. He's going to be able to convince all the professors to release his grades on time so he can apply (despite the fact that shit hole law schools like this routinely hold back grades so that students can't transfer). He's going to beat the curve and have no problem transferring out.cavalier1138 wrote:Did you know that Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University has a law school? It's all good Op. I'd say go with AJMLS, strictly because in the nearly 10 years I've been practice law I've never heard of the school. So if you're going to make an awful decision, go big or go home.

Op.. Hurry up and sign that seat deposit. You don't want to lose that seat to another highly qualified applicant...

It's Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. I wasn't making that up. It's a real law school. Repeating that fact is making me sad again.bmathers wrote:Is FAMU Franklyn and Marshall Univ?? I just learned about 3 new law schools. I assume these all just opened this year?

You need to cast a wider net, especially with schools like Akron that have a lazy river.FutureJD45 wrote:I have a choice of attending AJMLS, FAMU LAW or Texas Southern for free. Need guidance plan is to attend 1L and transfer.

Rankings don't really mean a lot. You want to look at job prospects and lazy river quality.raven1231 wrote:Not to mentioned also a top 50 law school!Clyde Frog wrote:You need to cast a wider net, especially with schools like Akron that have a lazy river.FutureJD45 wrote:I have a choice of attending AJMLS, FAMU LAW or Texas Southern for free. What would you do in my situation?Clyde Frog wrote:Rankings don't really mean a lot. I can either go to GGU with their highest scholarship which provides 75% tuition as long as I'm consistently in the top 80% of the class. Which I would be given them awarding me this scholarship. And they also are giving me a free laptop.
On the other hand Akron is offering 15k a year as a Hugo scholar. This comes with a fellowship which would also give me 400 a year to spend as I choose.
Now I've heard good things about both schools but honestly would rather go to school near GGU due to the beautiful weather. But I don't want to give up Akron if it means that much better of an education.
My goals are modest. I'd like to work in a mid law firm, or be and ADA.

Definitely Akron. The lazy river there has tons of networking events where the students find their jobs. In fact, I hear they plan to hold OCI in the river next year!!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
