UCI v BC v Re-take/apply
Applied this cycle with 3.49/164 (one-take). Highest practice test was 169. I've spent the past year working full-time at a law firm. Accepted to schools from 20-30, narrowed it down to UCI and BC. At this very late point in the cycle, I am torn between going to one of these schools or re-taking. If I were to re-take and do great, my GPA keeps me in firm splitter territory for any school 6-20. Mylsn does not paint a clear picture and I'm unsure if it is worth another year off to end up in the same position. Looking for any thoughts/opinions/stories about re-applying.
Considering: UCI and BC (deposited at both)
COA (after scholarship): 60K scholarship offer at both schools. I could live with family if I attended UCI. UCI - 81,000 BC 120,000
Significant ties in California and Massachusetts, but I am not sure where I want to work.
I'm thinking public interest/government position.

Why wouldn't you retake and get that 169?

Retake. But if not, UCI for COL savings.

If you want biglaw, retake/reapply.
If you want regional law firm/public defender/local government/etc. in Boston, enjoy BC.
If you want a regional law firm/etc. etc. in southern California, enjoy UCI.
60k COA for both seems pretty good. Are you sure you're factoring all your expenses (including tuition increases and interest) correctly?

It's a bit unclear but it seems COA for UCI is ~$80k and BC is ~$120ktwenty wrote: 60k COA for both seems pretty good. Are you sure you're factoring all your expenses (including tuition increases and interest) correctly?

Yeah, OP edited after, which helped. He's below both medians at BC, which kind of screams retake even if you want Boston regional practice.
