Illinois Vs Chicago Kent
I was offered a Full tution Scholarship from Chicago-Kent today. As expected this was a game changer for me and my decision process. Now Im in the process of negotiating a higher scholarship from Illinois (currently at 25,000 a semester). What do you all think? Chicago-Kent or Illinois?

What are your goals? Also, what's your total anticipated cost of attendance for each school? LSAT (score and the number of times you've taken it) & GPA would help too.

I'm leaning towards the Public Interest side and being in the Chicago legal market is my top priority right now as I have family in Chicago and I love the city. My LSAT was 157 and GPA 3.67 so I'm definitely happy to have been accepted to Illinois but a full scholarship is always tempting. I know on paper Kent doesn't compare to Illinois academically so that's my dilemma.

What kind of public interest are you thinking of? If you're talking DA or PD, then it might be worth it, since I'm assuming you could live with family and avoid paying for a substantial amount of your COL. Still, I'm leaning toward retake here, since another 5 points on your LSAT will net you some serious cash at Illinois. But, if you really want to be in Chicago, and your PI goals are pretty modest, Kent might be a good deal.jsp13g wrote:I'm leaning towards the Public Interest side and being in the Chicago legal market is my top priority right now as I have family in Chicago and I love the city. Final Opinion: I'm always a fan of retake, especially if you've only taken the test once. If you didn't really study for it, you could see a marked improvement in your score by using some of the resources available on this site. Getting into the 160s will, at the very least, net you more scholarship money at U of I.
ETA: Are you a URM by chance?

A few more LSAT points will get you a UIUC fully.

How many times have you taken the LSAT? I know the Kent option is particularly tempting for PI especially if you can live with family, but a couple points would change your outcomes completely especially since you're only leaning PI and sounds like you wanna keep some options open.

According to LST, KenTTT gives you less than a 50% chance of getting a JD required job.
