GULC ($$$) vs. Cornell ($$$) vs. Retake/Re-Apply
Thank you all for your advice. I now have a clear idea of what to do. I have removed identifying information.

I would retake and reapply. By all accounts K-JD applicants have been having especially bad cycles these past few years, so even just applying earlier and having one year of work experience could make a huge difference. Add in an extra point or two on the LSAT and you can expect 150k scholarships from a few more T-14's, with a good shot at Harvard. Worst case you'll end up with the same options next cycle but I'd bet it'll be much better.

You would have had full tuition at these places last year. Applications picked up, K-JDs fell out of favor a bit. I'd wait it out, apply broadly, and negotiate next time... your numbers will be valid next year, or several years from now.

Thank you both for your advice. It seems I applied late in a year with an up-spike of applicants (and high-scoring ones). I now feel that re-applying is the right move. Should I write an addendum explaining my year off when I re-apply to schools next year?
Also, I am a little unsure about the best way to reapply. I will be taking the September LSAT. Should I reapply as soon as applications open with my old score and then take the LSAT? Or is it better to reapply once the September LSAT scores are out? Thank you all for your help. I really appreciate it.

I wouldn't write any kind of addendum. When you withdraw from Cornell and GULC, let them know you appreciate the offers but have decided you'd like to take the year the explore some alternatives. Along those lines, hang out on those waitlists just in case as it's not unheard of for a school that has median problems to come through with a big offer late in the game.
When you reapply I'd wait until you have the September score. Just have everything else ready to go. October is still plenty early.

Great advice. OP: no need to go to Cornell/GULC with your stats. And taking a year (or two) off will help you in the long run.Tiago Splitter wrote:I wouldn't write any kind of addendum. Thank you all for your awesome advice. I wish I had found this site sooner. I now know what to do. I will be back next cycle with an earlier application, better essays, work experience, and a (hopefully) higher LSAT. See you all then.
